Energizing Duong Kinh 220kV Transformer Station, enhancing power security for Hai Phong city

(Chinhphu.vn) - On July 29, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), the Northern Power Project Management Board (NPMB) coordinated with relevant units to energize the 220kV Duong Kinh Transformer Station project, thereby helping to enhance the power supply for Hai Phong city.

Previously, on July 25, Mr. Hoang Van Tuyen, Deputy General Director of EVNNPT, Chairman of the Investor-level Acceptance Council chaired the Council meeting, and the council members agreed to energize the project.

The 220kV Duong Kinh Transformer Station (TSS) project is invested by EVNNPT, managed and operated by NPMB on behalf of the investor, and operated by Power Transmission Company 1.

The project is built in Dong Phuong commune and Dai Dong commune, Kien Thuy district, Hai Phong city (old), now Duong Kinh ward, Hai Phong city.

The project has a scale of building a new 220kV substation, this phase installs a 250 MVA transformer (AT3), reserve location for two transformers; installs a 63MVA transformer (T5), reserve location for one transformer

The 220kV side has a scale of 13 bays, this phase installs equipment for 7 bays, and reserves locations for 6 bays. The 110kV side has a scale of 24 bays, this phase installs equipment for 16 bays, and reserves locations for 8 bays.

Control, protection and measurement systems, communications and SCADA are equipped in accordance with EVN and EVNNPT regulations, in compliance with current standards and regulations. Fire prevention and fighting equipment and means are equipped in accordance with current regulations and EVN's Fire Prevention and Fighting Regulations.

At the same time, build 2 new 220kV double-circuit lines, with a total length of about 260m from Duong Kinh 220kV substation connecting to the existing Dong Hoa - Dinh Vu 220kV double-circuit line.

After completion, the project will be very important in ensuring electricity supply for Hai Phong city's loads; meeting the economic and social development needs of Hai Phong city and neighboring areas.

Reduce the load on 220/110kV transformers at existing 220kV substations in Hai Phong city and neighboring provinces. Contribute to ensuring N-1 criteria, improving reliability and safety of power supply to the regional grid.

The completion of the project's energization is a practical action of EVNNPT and NPMB to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2025) and welcome the 4th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Electricity Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, which will take place in the near future.
