V-League team recruits former teammate of famous player Ronaldinho

In the latest development, the Thanh team has successfully recruited Brazilian player Luiz Antonio.

On September 6, this star was present in Thanh Hoa for a medical examination and to complete the terms of the contract.

Luiz Antonio is highly regarded as a defensive midfielder. He can also play as a right-back.

The player born in 1991 grew up in the Flamengo Club (Brazil) training center. In 2011, Luiz Antonio was promoted to the Flamengo first team in the Brazilian National Championship.

In the following seven years, he played 168 games, scoring eight goals. In 2011 and 2012, Luiz Antonio played alongside Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho.

After leaving Flamengo, the 32-year-old player played for many other Brazilian teams such as Sport, Bahia, Chapecoense.

In the 2022-2023 season, Luiz Antonio moved to Lamphun Warriors in Thai League 1, played 13 matches and scored 1 goal.

The Brazilian player promises to significantly increase the strength of the midfield for Thanh Hoa Club.

After a relatively successful 2023 season when finishing 4th in the V-League and winning the National Cup, Thanh Hoa let many key players leave.

The names saying goodbye to the yellow team include: striker Bruno Cunha, midfielder Le Pham Thanh Long, Nguyen Huu Dung, defender Nguyen Minh Tung, Vu Xuan Cuong, Dam Tien Dung.

On the contrary, coach Popov's team also brought in midfielder Pham Truong Tinh, defenders Dinh Viet Tu and Nguyen Thanh Long.
