Vietnamese press delegation visits and works in Guangxi province (China)

On August 4, the media exchange program between Vietnam and China was officially launched at the headquarters of Guangxi Daily with the theme: “Both comrades and brothers – Together towards the future”. This is an opportunity for press agencies of the two countries to strengthen cooperation, exchange expertise and adapt to the global digital transformation trend.

Leading the delegation from Vietnam was Ms. Nguyen Thu Ha, Deputy Head of the Department of Organization, Personnel and International Cooperation, Voice of Vietnam (VOV). Attending the delegation were   Mr. Pham Duy Binh, Consul General of Vietnam in Nanning;   Representatives of domestic press agencies such as: Vietnam Television, Vietnam News Agency, Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper, Vietnamnet Newspaper, VnExpress, World and Vietnam Newspaper, Quang Ninh Media Center...   Hung Yen Newspaper and Radio and Television Delegation participating in the program had journalist Pham Van Xuong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief.

On the Chinese side, participating in welcoming the delegation was Mr.   Liu Kun , Editor-in-Chief of Guangxi Daily; Mr.   Xue Bin , Second-grade Patrol Officer, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Government Press Office; Mr.   Liang Yankun , Deputy Head of the Department of Propaganda and External Exchange, and representatives of many departments, agencies and affiliated media centers. Speaking at the launching ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thu Ha expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome of Chinese agencies; and emphasized the practical significance of the exchange program in connecting and enhancing the press capacity of the two countries. In the context of global media changing rapidly, sharing experiences and cross-border cooperation is an inevitable trend.

Editor-in-Chief Liu Kun shared: Guangxi Daily currently publishes more than   300,000 copies per day , while focusing on investment in development   electronic newspaper, digital platform   and application   artificial intelligence (AI)   during production and content review.   “The application of AI is helping us create innovative journalistic products that suit modern tastes on popular social platforms in China,” Mr. Liu Kun emphasized.

The Vietnam-China press exchange program not only contributes to promoting people-to-people diplomacy, but also opens up opportunities for the press of the two countries to learn, innovate and accompany each other in the journey of building a modern, professional, and community-connected press.
