Accordingly, the Hanoi Department of Construction was requested to direct relevant units to coordinate with the Hanoi Traffic Police Department to study and implement traffic flow and lane separation on roads with an expected implementation time from September 20.

Specifically, for trucks, the speed and traffic lanes will be organized as follows:

Thang Long Highway (from km2+250 to km28+200): For the left lane right next to the median strip (lane 1), the maximum speed is 100km/h, trucks are prohibited from operating on this lane.

For the middle lane next to the leftmost lane (lane 2), the maximum speed is 90km/h, mixed lane.

For the outermost lane next to the emergency lane (lane 3), the maximum speed is 80km/h, mixed lane, it is recommended that trucks operate on this lane.

Vo Nguyen Giap route (from Vo Van Kiet intersection - National Highway 2 to Nhat Tan bridge): Maintain the current speed division. The section from Song Thiep bridge to the airport is currently operating at 90km/h, has 3 lanes, no intersections, smooth road surface. It is recommended to study and report on the proposal to increase the maximum speed to 100km/h and prohibit trucks from operating on the left lane right next to the median strip (lane 1).

For the middle lane next to the leftmost lane (lane 2), the maximum speed is 90km/h, mixed lane.

For the outermost lane next to the emergency lane (lane 3), the maximum speed is 80km/h, mixed lane, it is recommended that trucks operate on this lane.

Also according to the request of the Traffic Police Department, the relevant functional units will install on the gantry (steel structure extending across the road used to hang traffic signs indicating lanes) the corresponding maximum speed signs on each lane, sign P.106a prohibiting trucks in the innermost left lane close to the median strip (lane 1), sign R.412f Lane for cars in the remaining 2 lanes (lane 2, lane 3), at locations including the beginning of the routes (forward and reverse directions) and repeated at intersections.

Maximum and minimum speed signs are recommended to be painted on the road surface; check and repaint faded or peeling lane markings, add reflective studs, etc.

The Traffic Police Department requested the City Department of Construction to direct the completion of the legal basis for adjusting traffic organization on the route according to regulations; deploy the installation and painting on the road surface the road signaling system (speed, vehicle flow) according to the above lane and flow separation plan; complete before implementation.

This traffic organization work must have the participation of leaders, officers of all relevant functional units and the Traffic Police Department to research, propose and implement effectively. From there, replicate the model on other routes that are qualified for lane and flow separation. Announce and propagate on mass media about the new traffic organization plan on the 2 routes and the implementation time.
