When I wrote “Every morning hearing news from friends, I also hear my own sighs” before the many feelings of Mr. Le Khue - a violinist in Hoi An, I still could not imagine that one day, I would be in the same mood!

1. That was the day I heard that the character in my article had “gone to play somewhere else”. After 15 years of working as a journalist, I have written quite a number of portrait articles. Each portrait is a deep slice that contributes to the picture of the Quang Nam cultural region.

Each character is a story, each one is different from the others. Each character is a mark associated with the journey of preserving and conserving Quang Nam culture. Through them, we realize that the cultural vestiges of Quang Nam that we thought were hidden in the hustle and bustle of life are actually secrets that, if someone uncovers them, will turn into treasures.

That is the “treasure” of Tra My cinnamon scent, the “soul of the mountain” neatly folded into musical notations. The soulful sound of the a-map trumpet. The measure of the ethnic group’s quality through the gong melody. The Co people’s folk song imitates the xa-ru melody of a hard-working woman...

Peeling back each memory, to recall the image of the muscular and generous mountain man from his figure to his voice, from his personality to the passion he pursued.

In 2017, I wrote about him, with my feelings after several years of observing Duong Trinh. In the following years, he became an expert in my articles on preserving mountain music and many of my colleagues.

In 2024, we invited him to participate directly in the topics on mountain culture, as a writer. I still remember the man's voice shouting when he received his first royalties. That was also the last memory with Duong Trinh!

At the end of April, with a silent incense stick, we visited Mr. Dinh Hai - former Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Quang Nam's tourism culture has a great contribution from him.

The mark of the “heritage journey” and then the Quang Nam heritage festival cannot be without the leader Dinh Hai. We call him “the one who made the festival”. And those who love Quang culture respect him for his dedication to many conservation matters.

Journalism, the greatest happiness is not necessarily the achievements from the awards. Colleagues often ask each other, behind the words, or remaining with the words, is there a connection that is maintained afterwards? Connection so that the message you send can be spread. Connection to do something useful for this life! And more than that, no matter how many months have passed, the literary figures who have appeared in the newspaper, still live true to what they shared with the writer.

2. The years that followed. Stepping back a bit, as we say goodbye to the "open" generation of people of the Quang Nam province name, starting from 1997, we realize that their footprints are deeply embedded in the journey of a cultural region.

Thanks to them, it seems that Quang Nam has been able to identify itself as a land that retains its character and identity, starting with the story of appreciating cultural workers.

Journalists in the South, whenever mentioning Quang Nam Newspaper, often give compliments. They respect the identity of the newspaper since its inception, always standing on the side of the beauty of traditional values. Not many newspapers have maintained such long-standing cultural pages, columns, and publications.

Even more important, when issues about the country's culture are continuously plowed, not only in multimedia news, in-depth analytical articles, and portrait and regional travelogues are continuously published.
