Awaken the wild legend

In Binh Dinh, there is a place where nature is still intact with towering cliffs jutting out into the sea like a giant dragon, where each wave crashing on the shore seems to carry a legendary story. That is Vi Rong Cape, one of the most spectacular landscapes of the province.

Natural masterpiece in the middle of the ocean

Located about 70km north of Quy Nhon city, Vi Rong cape in Tan Phung village, My Tho commune, Phu My district is like a majestic natural picture, where the sky and earth blend with the vast ocean, creating a captivating beauty. This place has a wild, mysterious beauty, has not been much affected by humans and still retains the original appearance that nature created thousands of years ago.

With its vertical rocks jutting out into the sea, Mui Vi Rong looks like a giant dragon stretching out to catch the wind, preparing to fly into the blue sky. The layers of stacked rocks, strange shapes and the sound of strong waves make visitors feel like they are stepping into a legendary land, a place where ancient stories converge.

According to Mr. Truong Ba Pha, Head of Tan Phung 1 Village, this place has long been associated with many legends that have been passed down through generations. However, history books do not fully record the story, making it even more mysterious, stimulating the curiosity of visitors from near and far.

Initially, Vi Rong Cape was just a primitive rock, shaped like fish scales, popularly known as dragon scale rock.

Over time, the erosion of sea water, wind and waves has created a special shape resembling a dragon's head, looking extremely vivid. When the sun begins to set, Vi Rong Cape is dyed in a brilliant orange-yellow color, as if the dragon is transforming into the ocean, creating an incredibly majestic scene.

Not only a beautiful natural landscape, Mui Vi Rong has also become a famous place in Binh Dinh. According to Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of My Tho Commune, Truong Minh Cuong, thanks to the strong spread of the image of Mui Vi Rong on social networks, the number of tourists coming here is increasing. This has helped change the lives of people in Tan Phung village, when many households started to run homestay businesses, food services, or open tours to visit, surf, and fish at sea.

Ms. Tong Thi Kim Hoang, a tourist from Long Xuyen, An Giang shared: “My group of friends and I decided to choose Vi Rong Cape as one of the destinations on our journey through the central provinces and this was absolutely the right decision. This place has a wild, mysterious landscape, cool, fresh air that helps me fully enjoy the beauty of nature.

"I used to think that Mui Vi Rong was simply a rocky beach, but when I got there, I was truly overwhelmed. The deep blue sea, the smooth golden sand, and the layered rocks created a beauty that was both powerful and poetic. All of these elements combined to create a beautiful picture like a European paradise," she said.

Making Vi Rong Cape an attractive destination

Mui Vi Rong is not only beautiful in spring and summer, but even in winter, when the sea is rough and the waves are strong, it still attracts surfers, especially international visitors. A resident of Tan Phung village shared: There are groups of 8-10 people staying at my house for a whole week to surf. They love the challenge of the sea here. This not only helps me earn more income but also gives me the opportunity to meet and connect with friends from all over the world.

Catherine Adams, a tourist from Astraulia, shared her experience when visiting Mui Vi Rong: When I arrived, I was immediately attracted by the strong waves and beautiful landscape of this place. I am a surfing enthusiast and was surprised that this place had waves big enough to challenge myself. Not only that, the locals are very friendly, I had a great week here and will definitely come back.

Mui Vi Rong is also an ideal location for photographers, because the scenery changes every hour. In the morning, the clear blue sky reflects on the sea, while in the evening, the scene is dyed with red and yellow, creating artistic photos.

According to Nguyen Thi Kim Chung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh province, Vi Rong cape has now been included in the official tourism map of Binh Dinh province. Local authorities are calling on businesses to invest in tourism, build more experiential services and plan the area into a sustainable destination. The People's Committee of Binh Dinh province aims to welcome 10 million visitors by 2025, including about 110,000 international visitors.

To do this, the province promotes and improves the quality of services, while focusing on eco-tourism and resorts, preserving the wild and natural beauty of Vi Rong Cape. In addition, the province focuses on training local people to become tour guides, helping them not only earn more income, but also become tourism ambassadors, introducing cultural and natural beauty to international friends.

Mui Vi Rong is gradually becoming a tourist symbol of Binh Dinh, with the harmony of natural beauty, historical elements and ancient legends. This is not only a tourist destination, but also a place to preserve legendary stories, where people clearly feel the magic of nature. With the right development strategies, Mui Vi Rong can completely become a leading tourist destination in Vietnam, attracting domestic and international tourists.
