Foreign tourists experience at Nho Que 1 Hydroelectric Lake. |
Nho Que 1 Hydropower Reservoir was formed after Nho Que 1 Hydropower Plant (Meo Vac) was completed and stored water since 2017. The project exploits water resources from Nho Que River - the river originating from Nghiem Son range (Yunnan province - China), crossing the Vietnam border into Lung Cu commune, Dong Van, then flowing downstream through Meo Vac commune before flowing into Cao Bang province.
To explore Nho Que 1 Hydroelectric Lake, visitors will travel by boat. In particular, if you explore Nho Que Lake at dawn, visitors will feel like they are lost in a fairyland with the steam and clouds drifting on the lake surface and halfway up the mountain. When the sun rises, the brilliant golden sunlight shines through the mountain ranges onto the sparkling lake, turning Nho Que into a giant silver river.
A highlight that cannot be missed when visitors explore Nho Que 1 Hydropower Lake is Tu San Alley - a place considered a "geological wonder", "the most majestic pass" and is known as the deepest canyon in Southeast Asia with two vertical cliffs hundreds of meters high.
Ms. Le Thu Ha, a tourist from Da Nang, shared: “I have been to many places, but I have never seen a place as beautiful and majestic as Nho Que Lake. Feeling the quiet drifting through Tu San alley, among the towering vertical rocks, with only the sound of waves and wind, I clearly feel the tranquility in my soul, as if all the worries of the city have been washed away.”
Mr. Nguyen Nam Phuong, Director of Tu San Agricultural and Tourism Service Cooperative - the unit operating passenger transport services at Nho Que Lake, said: “We currently have more than 50 tourist boats serving tourists with full safety equipment. Each trip lasts 60 to 80 minutes, taking tourists through Tu San alley and locations with beautiful landscapes. In addition, we also provide tour guide services, traditional costumes and highland cuisine to enrich the experience for visitors.”
According to Chairman of Meo Vac Commune People's Committee Hoang Van Hung, Nho Que 1 Hydropower Reservoir is a key tourist destination of the locality. The commune continues to coordinate with relevant agencies to review and complete connecting infrastructure; at the same time, strengthen inspection of passenger transport activities, ensuring absolute safety for tourists.
