Police investigate 14-year-old girl being beaten by a gang

On August 7, the leader of Tran De commune (Can Tho city) said that he had directed the commune police to investigate and clarify the incident of a young girl being beaten by a group of people that had just occurred in the area.

Previously, a 36-second video clip went viral on social media, recording a group of women attacking a young girl.

Verification shows that the incident occurred at noon on August 6 on a deserted street. Accordingly, a group of 4 to 5 people (all women) took turns using their hands and feet to repeatedly hit a young woman on the head and body, despite her miserable cries.

The group also used helmets to hit the girl's head and kicked her face, even though the victim did not resist.

Ms. T., the mother of the girl beaten in the clip, said: The person who was beaten by the group was my child, N., 14 years old. According to Ms. T., the cause may have stemmed from a conflict in her child's previous words with this group of people. After the beating, this group of people also came to the house, putting pressure on the person who posted the video to take it down.

The leader of Tran De commune said that, in addition to directing the police to investigate the case, the Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune visited and encouraged N., and took N. to the hospital for examination. Initial results showed that N. suffered soft tissue injuries and is currently being monitored at the hospital.
