Ensure knowledge and strengthen skills for students
These days, teachers and 12th grade students are still racing against time to accumulate knowledge and skills to prepare for the important exam that "opens the door to the future". With more than 17,000 candidates, the 2024-2025 school year is the first year that students will take the High School Graduation Exam according to the 2018 GeneralEducation Program. This poses many difficulties, challenges and new requirements for both teachers and students.
Organizing teaching and reviewing in accordance with the innovative program has become a top priority task that the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh has strongly directed. Accordingly, schools have developed teaching plans suitable to actual conditions, ensuring the completion of the program according to the schedule prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training . High schools and vocational education and continuing education centers have increased the classification of students and organized review by target groups to improve teaching and learning effectiveness.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Cuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training said: "Immediately after the Ministry of Education and Training announced the reference questions, the Department promptly organized for key teachers of each subject to study the structure and content of the exam, and at the same time supported schools to adjust the review content in accordance with the new exam orientation; proactively guided schools to develop review plans in accordance with the new program, in order to help students adapt early to the exam orientation. The industry has also established professional working groups to go directly to schools to advise, support, and guide teachers in exam review, contributing to solving difficulties at the grassroots level."
To help candidates get used to the structure and pressure of the exam room, the Department of Education and Training has organized two serious mock exams, with exam questions closely following the sample exam structure of the Ministry of Education and Training. This is considered a practice session on psychology and skills for teachers in charge of exam supervision and students. The exam results are also the basis for schools to adjust teaching and review plans to suit each subject.
With the support of the education sector, at the school level, units have also been proactive in organizing review sessions for 12th grade students, especially in classifying students according to their abilities, selecting a team of teachers with expertise and experience to take charge of review sessions, ensuring effectiveness.
Mr. Le Hong Nhat - Vice Principal of Le Quy Don High School (Ha Tinh City) shared: "The team of teachers participating in the review showed a high sense of responsibility, enthusiasm, actively learning and sharing teaching experiences. It is noteworthy that after Circular 29 took effect, teachers volunteered to teach review for free with the spirit of all for the beloved students".
Up to now, free teaching for 12th grade students is still maintained by teachers of schools in the area until the exam date. The students are fully equipped with knowledge and skills, ready to pass the "gate" to embark on a new journey.
Exam sites are ready to welcome candidates
To prepare for more than 17,000 candidates entering the exam, at 36 exam sites located in high schools and middle schools, the Department of Education and Training has arranged 750 exam rooms, including 1 exam site for candidates registering to take the exam according to the 2006 General Education Program, including 14 rooms at Le Van Thiem Middle School (Ha Tinh City). With the direction of the industry, the exam sites have been reviewed, inspected, upgraded, ensuring all factors such as: tables, chairs, lighting, fans, drinking water...
Mr. Hoang Quoc Quyet - Principal of Nguyen Dinh Lien High School (Cam Xuyen) informed: "To ensure service for 374 candidates who are students of the school, Phan Dinh Giot High School and some independent candidates, Nguyen Dinh Lien High School has arranged 16 examination rooms to ensure the requirements according to regulations. The work of securing exam papers and test papers is especially focused on, the school has also arranged a room to store exam papers with 24/24h surveillance cameras, cabinets to store exam papers and papers, and arranged beds for the police force to guard and monitor exam papers and test papers...".
At Ky Anh High School (Ky Anh town) - one of the examination sites with the largest number of candidates in the province with 930 students, including students from Ky Anh High School and Ky Anh Continuing Education Center, the school has prepared 39 examination rooms. At the same time, the dissemination of rules and regulations to teachers and students is fully and seriously implemented by the school.
Ms. Le Thi Tu Anh - Vice Principal of Ky Anh High School shared: "In order for the exam to take place seriously, fairly and transparently, the regulations on exam rules and regulations have been widely disseminated to students, parents and exam invigilators. The school has organized training sessions on exam regulations, and regularly reminded students and had them sign a commitment to comply with regulations on protecting state secrets related to the 2025 High School Graduation Exam".
Up to now, with the initiative of schools where the examination sites are located, and the advice of the industry in coordination, the preparation of facilities and personnel on duty at the examination sites has been completed.
The Steering Committee for the exam has arranged more than 3,000 officers to work at the exam sites, the areas where exam papers are printed and marked, etc. The industry has also coordinated with the Provincial Police to organize training for leaders of educational institutions with students taking the exam, and heads of exam sites on protecting state secrets and guiding the detection of the use of high-tech equipment during the exam. Through inspections at the exam sites, it can be seen that, up to now, preparations for the 2025 High School Exam in Ha Tinh have been thoroughly carried out.
