After the 10th grade entrance exam ended, localities immediately started marking the exam to soon announce the admission results and at the same time prepare facilities and human resources for the High School Graduation exam.
More than 20 provinces and cities have announced the results of the entrance exam scores for non-specialized and specialized 10th grade high schools.
In Hanoi , according to the plan of the Department of Education and Training, the exam results and benchmark scores will be announced simultaneously between July 4 and 6. This is a locality with a large number of exam papers, so the exam marking process will be longer and more difficult.
The examiners will work seriously, closely, and according to the correct procedures, ensuring fairness, objectivity, and protecting the rights of the candidates.
From June 9 to 22, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training's examination board will mark multiple-choice tests. From June 11 to 22, the board will mark essay tests.
After announcing the exam results, schools will return the application documents and admission exam results for grade 10 for the 2025-2026 school year to students.
Candidates who are still concerned about their exam results can apply for a re-evaluation and the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will announce the re-evaluation results soon so that candidates can enroll in school in time.

In Hanoi, according to the plan of the Department of Education and Training, exam results and benchmark scores will be announced simultaneously between July 4-6. |
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha, a teacher at a secondary school in Hanoi, who has been a homeroom teacher for 9th grade for many years, shared that after the exam ended, she had an online “meeting” to ask her students about their test results. Besides those who boasted that they did well, there were also those who regretted not performing up to par or got this or that question wrong. During the time of announcing the results and benchmark scores, she also anxiously waited for students to give her good news.
“Before that, I encouraged the students a lot, but when it came to the score announcement stage, I often let the students take the initiative and didn’t dare ask too many questions for fear that those with low scores would be upset. Exams are always like that, there are students with high scores, passing all their wishes, and there are also students with low scores, failing all or only passing their second and third wishes,” Ms. Ha said.
According to the teacher, for 9th grade students, at the age of 15, they are still immature, so they fail the 10th grade entrance exam, some of them are psychologically shocked. Especially those who study quite well, their families have high expectations and pressure. They also set a goal of passing the exam to get into good schools but if they do not get their wish, they will be very sad, cry, and withdraw. Every year, when congratulating the students who passed the exam, the teacher often texts and calls to encourage the unlucky students.
Consider option 2
Ms. Thuy Duong in Duong Noi ward, Ha Dong district (Hanoi) said that her child's first choice was Le Quy Don High School (Hanoi). Last year, this school had one of the highest admission scores in Hanoi, so both mother and child were under a lot of pressure.
Ms. Duong's solution to deal with the shock was to put her second choice at a school 5-6 points away from her first choice, to increase her chances of being admitted to a public school. In addition, she also bought an application form and deposited 2 million VND into a private school so that her child would not be left alone.
“What worries me is that my child studies well, so he is full of hope of being admitted to Le Quy Don School. After the exam, my mother kept encouraging me that the result is not important, but if he fails, he will definitely be very sad,” said Ms. Duong.
Ms. To Thi Hai Yen, Principal of Giang Vo Secondary School (Hanoi) said that before the 9th grade students graduated, she advised and reminded them to be confident and courageous before the upcoming exam and exam results. Everyone wants to be successful, everyone wants to be satisfied, but the reality is not like that.
During the learning process, parents and teachers have witnessed and understood that students have persevered and made great efforts. However, not all students are good, successful, and achieve their aspirations. Therefore, accept the truth and choose a different path and direction to develop yourself.
According to teachers, when the results are out but unfortunately the child fails, parents and students should accept it even though they are sad. Parents should not criticize or compare with those who have passed the exam because that is also what the child wants but has not achieved. On the other hand, parents should consider choosing the next direction for their child, which is to study at a non-public school or send their child to vocational school. Parents also need to ask their child's opinion before deciding and at the same time carefully learn about the facilities, teaching methods, tuition fees, distance from home to school... at the school they plan to send their child to.
