Sharing the secret to achieving such excellent results, Bao Khiem innocently said: “That is the result of nearly a year of diligent study and the companionship of my father, and the enthusiastic support of my teachers. I took the exam in group D1, where the questions required software development, game building, and expanding product functionality. During the exam preparation process, I mainly studied at home with my father, focusing on writing software, programming functions, and building small games. Teachers provided previous years' exam questions for me to refer to, practice, and get familiar with the structure and requirements of the actual exam.”
With the creative software “Happy Learning Vietnamese Grade 1”, he excelled over many competitors to win the national first prize. In the recent national exam, the test time was 150 minutes and Khiem finished the test about three minutes before the deadline. When receiving the test, although he was a bit nervous, he still maintained his confidence by reading the test carefully and regularly saving the results to prevent technical problems. He paid special attention to the bulleted requirements - the key points that determine the success of the test.

Bao Khiem's passion for computer science started very early. When he was only 3 years old, he was fascinated by movies about robots and dreamed of becoming a robot maker. His father, Tran Van Teo (born in 1983), living in Binh Duc ward, created suitable software for Khiem to get acquainted with robot control programming from the age of 5 - 6. At the age of 6 - 7, Khiem explored new programming software on his own. In grade 3, he participated in the provincial youth computer science competition for the first time and won second prize. From then on, the desire to conquer more difficult programming tasks urged the young student to spend more time practicing every day.
Winning the first prize in Group D1 of the 2025 National Youth Informatics Competition (when he was still a 4th grader) was a great source of motivation, bringing Bao Khiem indescribable joy and pride. In the competition, most of the contestants were in 5th grade, only a few 4th graders like Khiem participated. His parents were always there to encourage him, not creating pressure but only hoping that he would try his best, because they believe that "hard work will pay off". Bao Khiem's father, a software engineer working for a company in the US, shared that he never forced his son to study. Bao Khiem's passion came from his natural curiosity when he saw his father working.
Mr. Teo shared: “Recognizing my child’s interest, I created conditions for him to be exposed to programming in an age-appropriate manner. Letting children learn programming at an early age not only helps them develop creative and logical thinking, but also trains their patience and problem-solving skills.” Bao Khiem also affirmed: “Learning programming is very beneficial. Being good at programming will help me solve math problems faster. I am nurturing the dream of going to the US to study and build robots.”
Bao Khiem's game products are all systematically built with features such as lessons, review, practice and games with diverse topics, helping to practice programming skills for himself and other children. On that journey, there is always companionship, guidance and support from his father. Bao Khiem affirms that his passion for information technology is inspired by his father, but the exploration and discovery all come from himself.
Ms. Pham Thi Kim Tuyen - homeroom teacher of Bao Khiem (4th grade) shared: “Bao Khiem has been an excellent student for many years. What impressed me most about him is his politeness, friendliness, and kindness. Khiem is intelligent and a good student, but he is not arrogant, on the contrary, he is very modest. If there is a classmate who needs help with his studies, Khiem is willing to volunteer to help him. In addition, Khiem also actively participates in the school's physical education and sports movements. Bao Khiem's winning first prize in the National Youth Informatics Competition, Group D1 is a source of pride for him and the school. Hopefully, he will always promote and maintain that achievement.”
