Previously, on June 22, fishing boat BD 96774 TS with 12 fishermen from Binh Dinh province was fishing in the Hoang Sa archipelago, more than 400 nautical miles from Da Nang , when fisherman Nguyen Luy, 51 years old, in Tam Quan Nam ward, Hoai Nhon town, Binh Dinh, was paralyzed on the right side of his body, suspected of having a stroke.
At that time, the area where the ship was operating had winds of level 4 - 5, waves 1 - 2m high; there were no ships around capable of providing emergency support.
The captain of the ship BD 96774 TS called the shore to request support and emergency aid. Through the Coastal Information Station system, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (Vietnam MRCC - under the Vietnam Maritime and Waterways Administration) connected with the 115 Emergency Center in Da Nang to organize remote medical consultation for the ship BD 96774 TS.
Through diagnosis, doctors determined that the patient had a stroke with serious symptoms and a poor prognosis and instructed the crew on board to perform first aid on the patient to try to sustain life.
At the same time, Vietnam MRCC requested fishing vessel BD 96774 TS to immediately stop production and change course to the mainland to take the patient to the emergency room.
