Contribute to promoting the province's image
Initially, the club had only about 20 members, but now it has gathered more than 50 members, working at a number of newspapers, radio stations, magazines, film studios, media agencies, etc. in Ho Chi Minh City and some provinces.
In addition to performing well the political tasks of the press agency where they work, the members of the Club regularly monitor and grasp information about the socio-economic development situation of their hometown to contribute to propaganda, promote the image, introduce the potential and socio-economic achievements of the province on the mass media. The members of the Club have had many news, articles, and reports on the work of Party building, political system building, and the progress of the province published in newspapers and magazines such as: Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam News Agency, People's Police Newspaper, Thanh Nien Newspaper, Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper, Resources and Environment Newspaper, Ho Chi Minh City People's Voice Radio, Ho Chi Minh City Television, Tuoi Tre Newspaper, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper. Ho Chi Minh City, Young Entrepreneur Magazine, Mekong Asean Magazine, Family and Children Magazine, Vietnam Economic Magazine, Customs Magazine, Cooperation and Development Magazine, Journalists and Public Opinion Magazine, VietnamTravel Magazine, Career and Life Magazine, Ho Chi Minh City Music Association... and many other media channels.
In addition, many images of the country, people, culture and tourism of the province are also introduced in photo exhibitions at Nguyen Hue walking street, Dong Khoi street, Lam Son park in Ho Chi Minh City...
Club members actively participate in the province's press activities such as: attending the meeting to celebrate the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day organized by the Provincial Journalists Association, the Spring press meeting, attending and reporting on major events of the province and some districts and Ben Tre City. Every year, club members participate and win high prizes at the Suong Nguyet Anh Press Award, responding to the national press award on Party building (Golden Hammer and Sickle Award) organized by the province. Participating in professional press exchanges organized by the Provincial Journalists Association, Ben Tre Radio and Television, and Dong Khoi Newspaper.
Mobilizing resources to support the homeland
In addition to professional activities, journalists in the Club also actively mobilized benefactors to support the locality. Typically, journalist Nguyen Van Viet (Vietnam News Agency) mobilized businesses to donate fresh water filters and water containers to people; journalist Nguyen Thai Binh (People's Police Newspaper) mobilized to build "Comradely Love" houses and rural traffic bridges; advised the Editorial Board of People's Police Newspaper to maintain the program of giving Tet gifts to the poor, near-poor, and police officers in the province with difficult circumstances; journalist Dao Van Tuan - Editor-in-Chief of Dong Nai Newspaper mobilized to donate 120 bicycles and 300 gifts to poor but studious students in the province; journalist Nguyen Khac Dung (Gardening Association Magazine) mobilized to build bridges and charity houses in Ba Tri and Thanh Phu districts; Journalist Huu Vinh donated books and computers to schools in Giong Trom and Ba Tri districts, gave gifts to poor and studious students in Cho Lach district, supported Ben Tre journalists in difficult circumstances... The total value to date is more than 3 billion VND along with many other charitable activities.
The highlight is that in two consecutive years 2024 - 2025, the Club, together with the Ben Tre Fellow Countrymen Liaison Committee in Ho Chi Minh City and the Ben Tre Entrepreneurs Club in Ho Chi Minh City, successfully organized the program "Gratitude of the Coconut Country - Aspiration to Reach Far" to raise funds for activities to support the home province. The Club cooperated with the Chau Thanh District Fellow Countrymen Liaison Committee to produce the photo book "Colors of Chau Thanh", presented to tourists on the occasion of the 2nd "Chau Thanh District Culture - Tourism Week" in 2024, and hosted the national "Ben Tre, Aspiration to Reach Far" art photography contest with good results.
In recent times, the Ben Tre Journalists Club working outside the province with a heart always turned towards the homeland has accompanied the Party Committee and people of the province, contributing to propaganda and encouraging local patriotic emulation movements, promptly sharing information to orient public opinion on issues of public concern. Always attached to the province in humanitarian and charitable activities
Coconut journalists in Ho Chi Minh City hope that the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee will regularly give comments and directions for the activities of the Club, act as a focal point, connect with agencies, departments and localities in the province, promptly provide information, create conditions, and pay attention to supporting journalists in the Club to work in the province conveniently and effectively, so that there will be more journalistic works and many other activities, contributing to more effectively promoting the good image of the beloved homeland of Ben Tre.
