According to the Ministry of Education and Training , the adjustment of the general education program is to conform to the implementation of a two-level government and in accordance with the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
To comply with the Constitution and the Resolution of the National Assembly, the education program of history and geography subjects at primary and secondary levels; geography grade 12; history grade 10 and civic education grade 10 ( economic and legal education) need to be revised.

Specifically, for history and geography subjects at primary and secondary levels, and geography subject for grade 12: revise and supplement contents related to socio-economic regions such as production territory organization of some economic sectors, socio-economic regional boundaries; names and number of provinces and cities in the region, area size, population of the region; economic development resources, development situation, distribution of economic sectors in the regions and some other contents to ensure logic.
For the civic education program: amend and supplement the 10th grade program on the topic " Political system of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam" and the topic "Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam".
For history subject: revise and supplement the optional study topic in grade 10 (topic "Vietnamese State and Law in History").
In the 2025-2026 school year, the Ministry of Education and Training requires educational institutions to continue using selected textbooks; at the same time, organize reviews, direct professional groups and teachers to adjust materials in lessons and topics to suit the rearrangement of provincial-level administrative units, the organization of two-level local governments and the content of amendments and supplements to the Constitution.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the above revision has been consulted with experts. At the same time, the Ministry will organize training and guide implementing units, proactively adjust lecture content, ensure accuracy, update and suitability to practice, especially for documents, data, maps, economic-social regional boundaries and administrative units.
Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training said that the curriculum of some subjects was revised and updated with requirements, knowledge, place names, data, maps, charts and socio-economic information, which are the basis for revising textbooks.
The Ministry identified a number of subjects directly affected by changes in administrative boundaries, including: history and geography (grades 4, 5, and 9); geography (grade 12); history (grade 10); economic and legal education (grade 10).
