Bac Ninh earns over 6,200 billion VND from lychee and ancillary services

In 2025, Bac Ninh lychee will be consumed mainly in the form of fresh fruit; the rest will be processed into canned lychee, dried lychee, frozen lychee... and will be consumed conveniently in the domestic and export markets.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Ninh province, in 2025, the total lychee consumption output of the province will reach over 205,400 tons, the largest output ever; of which early-ripening lychee will have a consumption output of about 75,300 tons, an increase of 27,700 tons compared to 2024; main-season lychee consumption will reach about 130,100 tons, an increase of about 92,000 tons compared to 2024.

In 2025, Bac Ninh lychees will be consumed mainly in the form of fresh fruit; the rest will be processed into canned lychees, dried lychees, frozen lychees... and will be consumed conveniently in the domestic and export markets.

Early-ripening lychees and main-season lychees of Bac Ninh are produced according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards with stable and high selling prices. Traders and businesses have signed contracts to purchase and consume them right from the beginning of the season, with an average price ranging from 25,000-35,000 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, lychees are not cared for much and are not cultivated according to VietGAP or GlobalGAP standards. Their selling price is low, averaging from 5,000 - 15,000 VND/kg, and are mainly consumed for processing (drying, juicing, peeling, freezing, etc.).

This year's lychee crop in Bac Ninh has opened up and expanded the domestic consumption market with a total domestic consumption output of about 127,200 tons, accounting for nearly 62% of the total consumption output, through wholesale markets, shopping malls, supermarkets, e-commerce platforms, social networking platforms (Tiktok, Facebook, Zalo...).

The province's lychee export output reached about 78,200 tons; of which the Chinese market consumed about 77,200 tons; the rest was exported to the United States, Canada, Japan, Korea, Australia, EU, Thailand and some countries in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, etc.

The total revenue from lychee and ancillary services of Bac Ninh province reached over 6,245 billion VND. Of which, revenue from lychee is estimated at about 3,719 billion VND; revenue from ancillary services is estimated at 2,526 billion VND.

In addition to the revenue from lychee and ancillary services for the production, harvesting, processing and consumption of lychee, Bac Ninh people also have a large regular income from beekeeping activities, lychee garden tourism activities... which significantly increase the income for people in lychee growing areas, contributing to the socio -economic development of rural areas of the province.

Right from the beginning of the 2025 lychee crop, Bac Ninh province has proactively and early implemented the organization and direction of production. The expansion of the lychee growing area according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP, and organic standards has received attention from all levels, sectors, and localities.

Professional agencies proactively, regularly, closely follow growing areas, conduct investigations, forecasts, monitor developments and prevent and control pests and diseases promptly and effectively.

At the same time, propaganda, training and guidance on lychee production processes according to domestic and export market requirements for lychee growers; monitoring farmers' use of pesticides; internal and external inspection and supervision are carried out regularly and strictly.

Along with that, trade promotion and support for people to consume lychee are being promoted by Bac Ninh province with synchronous solutions.

The province has organized a series of activities to promote lychee consumption both domestically and internationally with many innovations and diverse content and forms; combining traditional consumption promotion and promoting online consumption promotion, e-commerce, digital platforms, social networks on the Internet environment; events to promote, advertise, and introduce lychee associated with experiential tourism , cultural events, etc.

At the same time, expand promotional activities and connect consumption both domestically and internationally.

In particular, in the 2025 lychee crop, for the first time, the leaders of Bac Ninh province directly participated in livestreaming lychee sales on the TikTok Shop platform and Sendo Farm application in the program "Luc Ngan Lychee Week - Pride of Vietnamese Agricultural Products" which brought about a very positive effect, spreading to people in the lychee growing area to apply as a solution right during the peak harvest period and opening up a new direction for the following seasons.

In 2025, Bac Ninh province will continue to maintain a concentrated lychee production area, with an area of ​​29,700 hectares, the largest in the country.

Of which, the area of ​​early-ripening lychee is 8,000 hectares, accounting for 27%; the main-season lychee is 21,700 hectares, accounting for 73%. Lychee produced according to VietGAP standards is 17,317 hectares, an increase of 1,577 hectares compared to 2024; lychee produced according to GlobalGAP standards maintains an area of ​​173 hectares, an increase of 91 hectares compared to 2024; continue to maintain the organic lychee production model of 10 hectares in Chu ward./.
