Al-Nassr 'retaliates' against Laporte

Aymeric Laporte's move to rejoin Athletic Bilbao is turning into an unbelievable scandal, as Al-Nassr is accused of deliberately failing to submit transfer documents in time to prevent the deal.

According to Marca , the fault lies not with the system but with the lack of goodwill from Al-Nassr. Although the agreements between Athletic Bilbao and Laporte were completed, the transfer documents were not submitted by Saudi Arabia in time, causing the deal to fall into a state of invalidity.

Many sources said that Al-Nassr's leaders were not satisfied with the Spanish midfielder's desire to leave the club and considered this as "retaliation".

It is worth mentioning that La Liga even announced Laporte's return on a temporary basis, because Athletic Bilbao submitted all the necessary documents and signed a contract with the player. However, due to the lack of confirmation from Al-Nassr, the contract could not be activated.

FIFA also confirmed that there will be no "special window" for this case, meaning Laporte is still part of Al-Nassr's roster and is not considered a free agent.

Athletic Bilbao and Laporte’s legal team are trying to prove that the deal was done and that Al-Nassr was at fault.
