Promoting the glorious tradition of the Party's political theory agency
At the program, Party Central Committee member and Editor-in-Chief of Communist Magazine Hoang Trung Dung read the congratulatory letter from General Secretary To Lam on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the first issue of Communist Magazine (August 5, 1930 - August 5, 2025).
The letter reads:
"On the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the publication of the first issue of the Communist Magazine, on behalf of the Politburo , I would like to send my best wishes to generations of cadres, civil servants and workers of the Communist Magazine.
95 years ago, on August 5, 1930, the Red Magazine, founded and edited by comrade Nguyen Ai Quoc, published its first issue. Through the revolutionary stages, with the names Red Magazine, Bolshevik Magazine, Internal Activities Magazine, Study Magazine, Communist Magazine, it has constantly innovated, developed, and excellently completed all assigned tasks.
With its great contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, the Communist Magazine was twice awarded the Ho Chi Minh Medal by the Party and the State, the Gold Star Medal, the title of Hero of Labor in the renovation period and many other noble awards.
In the past time, together with the entire political system, the Communist Review has focused on effectively implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; promoting the propaganda of the revolution of streamlining the organizational apparatus, rearranging administrative units, organizing Party congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress. The Communist Review has well demonstrated its functions and tasks of researching, propagating, disseminating and educating political theory; proactively researching and propagating the Party's major policies and orientations, breakthrough resolutions on science and technology development, innovation; international integration; innovation in law-making and enforcement; private economic development... contributing significantly to orienting ideology, creating high unity in perception and action, encouraging the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army to firmly enter the new era of the nation.
Promoting the glorious tradition of being the political theory agency of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, under the direct and regular leadership of the Politburo and the Secretariat, in the new development period, the Communist Review needs to constantly innovate, take care of building a team of cadres, apply modern technology; promote theoretical research, summarize practices, enhance forecasting; improve the quality of publications; diversify information and propaganda platforms, promptly guide and orient the ideology of cadres, party members and people; keep up with the flow of the times, effectively contribute to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, for a strong, civilized and happy socialist Vietnam.
I wish the Communist Magazine to always be worthy of being the leading theoretical flag of the Communist Party of Vietnam".
Creating a pervasive influence in research, propaganda, and political theory education
Attending and speaking at the program, Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia affirmed that, after 95 years of establishment and development under many different names, the Communist Magazine has always maintained its steadfastness, absolute loyalty to the Party, to the revolutionary ideal, and excellently fulfilled its mission as the political theory agency of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission suggested that in the coming time, the Communist Magazine continue to adhere to its principles, purposes, functions, tasks, and the direction of the Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat to develop plans and tasks for research, propaganda, dissemination, and theoretical education according to Decision No. 213-QD/TU, dated December 28, 2024 of the Politburo.
The Communist Review needs to boldly delve into fundamental theoretical issues, especially new and difficult ones; promptly reflect, analyze, and interpret urgent issues from practice in order to provide scientific arguments for planning policies and guidelines for the Party's theoretical development, and raise the level of theoretical scientific research; focus on delving into, supplementing, and creatively developing Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought in new conditions, especially the theory of socialism and the path to socialism, the theory of the path of innovation, and the theory of the era of national development. This is a solid foundation for orienting thoughts and actions in the Party and in society.
In addition, the Communist Review must be a "solid fortress" on the ideological front; timely and sharp in analyzing, criticizing, and fighting with theory against distorted, erroneous, hostile, and negative ideologies and arguments about Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought, and the Party's guidelines and policies. Focus on research, providing sharp and convincing viewpoints and arguments, as a basis for cadres, party members and people to study, raise awareness and practice in protecting the ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints; repelling signs of degradation in political ideology, morality, and lifestyle of "self-evolution, self-transformation". At the same time, we must proactively and actively carry out foreign information work on political theory and international cooperation, strengthen orientation and lead public opinion, especially in cyberspace, contributing to consolidating people's trust in the Party's leadership and Vietnam's path to socialism.
Receiving the functions, tasks and personnel of the magazines of the Central Party Committees, the Communist Magazine continues to maintain and promote the implementation of assigned functions and tasks; strengthen the dissemination of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; provide theoretical guidance and practical activities for cadres and party members, especially mid-level and senior cadres of the Party. Along with that, it is necessary to innovate the content and form of propaganda, apply information technology, and diversify digital platforms so that the Party's theories are closer and more convincing in life.
The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission requested the Communist Review to pay special attention to personnel work, building a contingent of cadres and civil servants with political qualities, revolutionary ethics, profound theoretical knowledge, practical understanding, love for the profession, enthusiasm, responsibility, and the ability to master modern technology, meeting the requirements of the new era. Focus on training and fostering to improve research, analysis, synthesis capacity and the ability to present theoretical and practical issues that are both easy to understand and attractive and attract the attention of people nationwide as well as international friends.
"The person working for the Magazine must have the qualities of a scientist, a politician, especially the qualities of a revolutionary journalist," comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized.
The Communist Review needs to pay special attention to its team of collaborators, especially leaders of the Party, State, ministries, departments, branches, localities, experts, and scientists at home and abroad; by attracting, inviting, gathering, and rallying a large number of intellectuals, experts, and political theorists of the country to participate in writing articles, creating a spreading influence in research, propaganda, and political theory education.
In addition, the Journal needs to continue to develop and perfect regulations and rules so that departments and units within the agency can operate flexibly and smoothly, on the basis of clearly assigning people, tasks, responsibilities and authorities, increasing investment in modernizing facilities and technical infrastructure, promoting digital transformation in the editing, publishing, design and presentation processes to spread the content of publications to a large number of cadres, party members and people of all walks of life.
Proud of its 95-year glorious tradition, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission believes that the Communist Review will continue to strongly promote its political mettle, intelligence, and creativity; constantly innovate, improve the quality and efficiency of its operations; and be worthy of being the political theory agency of the Party Central Committee, the trusted and sharp voice of the Party, and the place where the theories of the times converge and crystallize.
Receiving the guidance, Editor-in-Chief of Communist Magazine Hoang Trung Dung said that in the coming time, Communist Magazine will continue to improve the quality of political theory research, clarify core issues in the Party's ideology, creatively develop Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought in the new context. Actively participate in the process of forming and developing the Party and State's guidelines, lines and policies, especially breakthrough orientations. Pay attention to the system of sharp theoretical articles and columns to fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints, firmly protect the Party's ideological foundation; promote the pioneering role on the ideological - theoretical front in the work of Party building and rectification.
The Communist Review closely combines the work of summarizing practice and theoretical research, closely following political and social life, reflecting movements from practice, contributing a sharp voice with clear orientation. Constantly innovating content and propaganda methods, building a multimedia communication platform, developing digital content, applying artificial intelligence, keeping up with modern communication trends. At the same time, expanding academic exchanges with research and theoretical institutions of communist parties and progressive parties in the world, thereby summarizing new experiences and theoretical issues; absorbing the quintessence, spreading the theoretical voice with Vietnamese identity to the international community.
Along with that, we regularly take care of building a team of cadres who are politically steadfast, theoretically profound, professionally proficient and practical-sensitive; create a favorable environment to nurture theoretical cadres; pay attention to building a team of sharp, responsible collaborators who always accompany and support the development of the Journal.
Promoting the 95-year tradition of construction and development, each cadre, civil servant and employee of Communist Magazine continues to innovate and create, determined to fulfill the mission of upholding the Party's pioneering ideological and theoretical flag.
At the program, 36 individuals were honored to receive the Medal "For the cause of the Party's Theoretical Magazine".
