Le Thuy Commune: Summer-autumn rice yield is estimated at 50 tons/ha

QTO - In the summer-autumn crop of 2025, Le Thuy commune planted more than 174 hectares of rice. This was a very difficult crop due to the impact of storms and heavy rains, causing some rice areas to be flooded, along with the appearance of harmful leaf rollers. However, under the close direction of the Party Committee and government and the initiative and determination of farmers, most of the rice areas affected by natural disasters have recovered well.

Currently, farmers in Le Thuy commune are urgently harvesting summer-autumn rice, with an estimated yield of 5 tons/ha; at the same time, local authorities have directed cooperatives to take advantage of the sunny weather, promptly instructing and supporting farmers to mobilize human resources and means to harvest rice to ensure productivity, output and guard against unusual weather changes at the end of the crop.

It is known that in this summer-autumn crop, Le Thuy commune continues to effectively maintain the large-scale field model, synchronously applying farming techniques, saving production costs to improve rice productivity and quality.

At the same time, after harvesting summer-autumn rice, instead of burning straw in the fields, farmers in Le Thuy commune can earn extra income by selling rolled straw or using it for production.

Currently, straw in the fields in Le Thuy commune is purchased at a price of about 18,000 VND/roll, transported to the provinces for sale at a price ranging from 22,000-25,000 VND/roll, sometimes more than 30,000 VND/roll.
