(QNgTV)- Storm No. 5 (Kajiki) formed in the East Sea on the morning of August 23, with strong winds of level 8-9, gusts of level 11, and is forecast to strengthen to level 12-15. The storm moves quickly at 20-25 km/h, heading towards the North Central region, causing heavy rain from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri, with the risk of flooding and landslides.

According to the Quang Ngai Province Hydrometeorological Station, at 1:00 p.m. on August 23, the center of the storm was at approximately 17.4 degrees North latitude; 115.0 degrees East longitude, approximately 300km East Northeast of Hoang Sa Special Zone. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 9 (75-88km/h), gusting to level 11; moving in a West Northwest direction at a speed of approximately 25km/h.

At 1 p.m. on August 24, the storm's eye was located in the sea south of Hainan Island (China). The strongest wind near the storm's eye was level 11-12 (100-135 km/h), gusting to level 14; moving west-northwest at a speed of about 20-25 km/h and continuing to strengthen.

As of 1 p.m. on August 25, the storm center is forecast to be located in the coastal waters from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri . The strongest wind near the storm center is level 12, gusting to level 15; moving in the West Northwest direction at a speed of 15-20 km/h. Disaster risk level 4: West of the North East Sea (including Hoang Sa archipelago), Bac Bo Gulf, South Quang Tri - Hue.

At 1 p.m. on August 26, the eye of the storm was located on land in Central Laos. The strongest wind near the eye of the storm was level 6, gusting to level 8; moving west-northwest at a speed of 15-20 km/h and gradually weakening into a tropical depression. Disaster risk level 3: Gulf of Tonkin, South Quang Tri - Hue .

Under the impact of storm No. 5, Quang Ngai sea area (including Ly Son special zone) from the night of August 23 will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, strong northwest winds of level 4 - 5, during thunderstorms, beware of strong gusts of level 6. From the evening of August 24, the wind is likely to shift from the South to the Southeast, gradually strengthening to level 6, gusting to level 7; the area near the storm center is likely to be strong at level 7, gusting to level 8, waves 2.0 - 3.5m high, rough seas.
