From the idea, the coordinated plan program, the volunteer team agreed to implement free English teaching activities this summer for students aged 10-12, with priority given to "Foster children of the Youth Union", "Foster children of the Commune Police" and children in the "Godmother" program of the Women's Union at all levels in the Provincial Police, children living at the SOS Children's Village Dong Hoi and students in difficult circumstances in Quang Ninh district, Bo Trach district and Dong Hoi city.
Lieutenant Colonel Pham Thi Huyen Trang, Deputy Head of the Women's Committee, Political Affairs Department, Quang Binh Provincial Police, said: Practically responding to the Month of Action for Children, the National Month of Action on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control and Vietnam Family Day 2025, Quang Binh Provincial Police has developed a plan to organize the program "English for Children - Summer of Love" integrating propaganda on preventing and combating violence and child abuse. The program has the support and coordination of organizations and individuals with foreign language expertise, such as: "English for Children" Project, Central-level English trainers. Thereby, creating a useful and healthy playground in the summer for students in difficult circumstances; contributing to equipping students with practical English learning knowledge and skills, helping them form habits and be bold in communication.

3 classes are held at 3 locations, including: Dong My Primary School (Dong Hoi City), Quan Hau Town Primary School (Quang Ninh) and Ly Trach Secondary School (Bo Trach). Currently, the number of students participating in the free English class in Dong Hoi is 32, Quang Ninh district has 30 students and Bo Trach district has 10 students (we are inviting more students with difficult circumstances who are passionate about this foreign language to continue registering to participate in the class).
Classes will take place once a week for 6 weeks with diverse and rich forms, creating interesting inspiration for children to experience, such as: Practicing storytelling, singing, drawing, presenting in English; learning vocabulary with flashcards; participating in group activities and games (team building), such as: Tug of war, sack jumping, capturing the flag, solving crossword puzzles, "drawing dreams, painting happiness"...
The number of volunteers and teachers mobilized this year is over 15 members; including English teachers, pedagogical students, high school students and teaching and logistics assistants. In charge of the expertise is MSc. Ha Hong Ngoc, Head of the project “English for children”, a central-level English trainer.
Ha Hong Ngoc confided: “From my passion for learning English, becoming an English teacher, I have become very confident in my work. This foreign language has also supported me in social activities, asserted myself and brought success and practical benefits in life. I won first prize in the 3rd English Olympic Competition for young cadres in 2021. From the knowledge I have, I want to pass on my passion to young people, especially those in difficult circumstances, helping them to confidently communicate, have knowledge, opportunities and directions to contribute to their journey to establish themselves and their careers in the future.”
The free summer English classes of volunteers organized by various organizations and individuals have just completed 2 sessions. According to the plan, there are 4 more sessions taking place in 4 weeks.
