
July 27th of every year is the day that the people of the whole country set aside to commemorate the heroic martyrs who fell for the country, for the independence and freedom of the nation and for Socialism.
Lam Dong province is a homeland with a rich revolutionary tradition. During the two resistance wars against the French and the Americans, Lam Dong province encountered many difficulties and hardships. However, the Party Committee, army and people of the province always had faith in Uncle Ho, in the great revolutionary cause of the Party, fought bravely, and achieved many glorious feats. There were many outstanding sons of Lam Dong province who devoted their entire youth, fought bravely, sacrificed heroically, leaving behind endless sorrow in the hearts of their relatives, especially the heroic Vietnamese Mothers; many comrades had to leave part of their bodies on the battlefield, suffering from lifelong disabilities.
Lam Dong province currently has thousands of martyrs, heroic Vietnamese mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers and revolutionaries imprisoned by the enemy. Over the years, the leaders of the Party, government, Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at all levels in the province have always paid attention to leading, directing and implementing well the work of people with revolutionary contributions, considering this a work of profound political and humane significance. Over the years, the beneficiaries of preferential policies have been continuously expanded, preferential regimes have been gradually supplemented, demonstrating the gratitude and care of the entire political system for people with revolutionary contributions... In addition, the work of searching, collecting and identifying the remains of martyrs, and restoring works honoring martyrs has also been focused on by the province.
It must be affirmed that the entire political system, all organizations, individuals and the community have always been united, joined hands and joined hearts in building and renovating works to honor heroic martyrs. The movements "Repaying gratitude" and "All people take care of families of war invalids, martyrs and people with revolutionary contributions", the movement of giving savings books and houses of gratitude, the movement of taking care of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, the activities of meeting, visiting and giving gifts to families of policy beneficiaries on holidays and Tet have shown the deep gratitude of the whole society for the great sacrifices of previous generations and have received strong response from the whole society.
These movements are not only the responsibility, but also the sentiment and honor of each agency, organization and individual, expressing deep gratitude for the immense contributions and sacrifices of those who fought for the Fatherland and the people. These activities have become a beauty in the national cultural life, with specific and practical actions, full of responsibility and affection, thereby contributing to preserving and promoting the humane tradition of the Vietnamese people. At the same time, the movement also has an important meaning in consolidating and strengthening the great national unity bloc, enhancing patriotism and arousing the social responsibility of each Vietnamese citizen.
War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27th every year, is an important commemorative day with profound humanistic significance. This is an occasion for the entire Party, people and army to respectfully remember and pay tribute to revolutionary predecessors, heroic martyrs, and outstanding sons of the nation who bravely fought and heroically sacrificed, and to show gratitude to the wounded soldiers who devoted part of their blood and bones to the cause of national liberation and reunification, as well as to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
