Immediately after announcing the exam scores, the Department of Education and Training announced the admission scores for Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted and Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted.
Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the 10th grade exam scores were announced on the morning of June 23, just 2 weeks after the exam time. Candidates can also enter their identification number and password to look up on the website of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City at: https://ts10.hcm.edu.vn/.
Candidates for grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City take 3 exams: Math, Literature, English. Candidates for specialized schools take an additional exam in Specialized subjects. Candidates for the integrated English program take an integrated English exam.
Admission score for non-specialized public high school grade 10 is the total score of the following subjects:
Admission score = Literature score + English score + Math score + Priority points, incentive points (if any).
Admission score to grade 10 specialized schools is the total score of regular exams + specialized subject score x 2:
Admission score = Math exam score + Literature exam score + Foreign language exam score + Specialized subject exam score x 2 + Priority points, incentive points (if any).
According to the regulations of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the test scores of all subjects are calculated on a 10-point scale. Successful candidates must take all 3 tests and not have any test with a score of 0.
The integrated admission score for grade 10 is the total score of three compulsory subjects (Math, Literature, English) plus the integrated score (on a 10-point scale).
Group 1: Students who have studied the integrated English program at secondary school level are considered according to: Admission score = Math + Literature + English + average score of the integrated English program. These students are given priority to enter schools that teach the integrated program.
Group 2: Students who do not study the integrated program but register for admission must take an additional integrated English exam: Admission score = Math + Literature + English + integrated English exam score. Candidates must take all exams, not violate regulations and have no exam with a score of 0.
In 2025, 76,435 students in Ho Chi Minh City registered for the 10th grade exam. The quota for public schools in Ho Chi Minh City this year is 70,070. So just over 6,000 candidates were eliminated. The 10th grade exam scores this year are predicted to be high.
Last week, after finishing the grading, some examiners said that the 10th grade math exam scores were positive. About 60-65% of the exams in their grading group scored 5 or higher, but few scored 10. The whole city had 36 candidates with perfect scores, compared to 49 last year. For Literature, the score range is concentrated at 6.5-7 like last year, with only two exams scoring 9.5. Meanwhile, many marking groups recorded that about 30% of English exams were below average. The common score of candidates is around 6-7 points. The number of 10 points is about 1/3 of last year (1,700). However, the number of candidates taking the 10th grade exam this year is about 76,000, while last year it was more than 98,000. The number of candidates has decreased, while public schools have about 70,000 seats, the passing rate is over 91%, so according to many teachers, the general 10th grade benchmark score may decrease slightly or remain the same. Over the past three years, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School has always been at the top with 24 points or more. Familiar faces in the top 10 often have scores above 22 points, such as Nguyen Huu Huan High School, Gia Dinh, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Phu Nhuan, Mac Dinh Chi, Le Quy Don, and Nguyen Huu Cau. |
