Sa Can beach is hundreds of meters long and is flooded with all kinds of garbage and smells bad.

The amount of garbage that washes up, covering the beach with plastic bags, plastic bottles, seashells, fishing gear… to the point where the sandbank is no longer visible.

Mr. Tran Van Thuong, in Hai Ninh village, Binh Son commune, said: “The beach here is covered with garbage, where fishermen’s basket boats are anchored. Many people want to bring fish to shore to sell, but they hesitate because there is so much garbage. The garbage comes from many different sources, from household waste, waste from aquaculture activities to waste from the upper Tra Bong River flowing into the sea and then washing back to shore.”

The whole area around Sa Can gate is a "composite" of charming, poetic beauty with Hon Ba, Hon Ong, Hon Tra, highlighted by small mountains with many large rocks stacked on top of each other, this used to be the choice of many tourists to visit.
Mr. Ho Quang Tam (Quang Ngai province) was disappointed: "I heard that Sa Can beach is beautiful so I wanted to go take pictures, but as soon as I stepped down, I saw a beach full of trash, I had to turn away immediately."

Ms. Vo Thi Hien, Chairwoman of Binh Son Commune People's Committee, said that the local government has carried out many general cleaning campaigns in the Sa Can beach area. However, waste from the upper Tra Bong River and other places flows ashore, making it difficult to control.
It is expected that in the coming time, the commune government will mobilize forces to collect garbage along the coast to make the marine environment clean again.
