Activities under the theme "School year of understanding" were organized by Xanh Tue Duc Primary and Secondary School ( Hanoi ) for students and parents on the occasion of the opening of the new school year, taking place on September 4 and 5.

On September 4, thousands of students and parents experienced the spaces and participated in underground activities (simulated after Cu Chi tunnels).

After experiencing the tunnel crawling, Nguyen Khanh Ninh said that it was very dark and scary inside the tunnel, but only when he got out did he feel more comfortable and able to breathe easier.

"From this experience, I have felt a part of the difficulties and hardships of previous generations to gain independence for the country," Ninh said.

Similarly, Ms. Tran Thi An shared that the most memorable moment when participating in her child’s opening day activities was when she experienced the “tunnel” challenge. Although the path was only 70m long, the difficulty in the dark and wetness partly recreated the wartime challenges of the fathers’ generation.

"Joining the tunnels, I overcame my previous fear of the dark and felt every step of the way, and also felt more grateful to our ancestors who had to work hard and sacrifice thousands of times more during the war.

I believe that when schools have models like this, children will not only practice physical skills but also gain more gratitude and pride in history," said Ms. An.

Ms. Ngo Lan Huong experienced the tunnel. According to her, the space of "School Year of Understanding" made both husband and wife slow down, read carefully and look deeply, and contemplate the messages sent to parents and children. "The slower and more attentive the experience, the more I appreciate the efforts of teachers for students and parents", Ms. Huong said - Photo: DUC KHANH

Throughout the event, students and parents explored 6 experiential spaces, each with a meaningful message that the school wanted to convey.

In particular, the knowledge space recreates the journey of knowledge from birth, schooling, to adulthood and contribution to society, along with a unique mask exhibition area. This is a profound reminder to be true to yourself, dare to remove the "masks" to find true happiness.

Kindness Space is a deep space that helps each person look back and reflect on the kindness around us. Along with that are spaces for maturity, gratitude, happiness and awareness.

According to the school representative, this year the school chose the new school year theme as "The school year of understanding", which is a continuation of the fundamental values that have been nurtured over the past 7 years.

"Through these activities, the school's greatest goal to convey to students and parents is to turn knowledge into action to bring happiness. The ultimate goal of knowledge must lead us to a more kind, mature and happier life every day."
