On August 7, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha inspected the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project, the Son Dong housing project and the implementation of the two-level local government in Phu Tuc commune. Deputy Minister of Construction Pham Minh Ha joined the delegation.

Receiving and working with the delegation, the leaders of Vinh Long province were Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Lu Quang Ngoi; Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Truc Son.

The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge construction investment project connecting Dong Thap and Vinh Long provinces, with a length of 17.6km, of which 7.95km passes through Dong Thap province and 9.65km passes through Vinh Long province. The total investment is 6,810.11 billion VND, from the budget. To date, the project progress has reached 99.55% of the value, 5 months ahead of the Prime Minister's direction. It is expected that on August 19, 2025, the project works will be handed over and inaugurated and put into operation.

Checking the implementation of the 2-level local government model in Phu Tuc commune. According to the report, Phu Tuc commune was established on the basis of merging the entire administrative boundaries, natural area and population of Chau Thanh town and 3 communes: Phu Tuc, Tan Thach, Tuong Da. The commune People's Committee has issued working regulations and assigned specific tasks. Phu Tuc commune leaders proposed to soon open training courses to improve the professional qualifications and skills of commune-level officials and civil servants and professional work in each field to improve work efficiency.

At the social housing project of the Son Dong housing project (Son Dong ward), according to the report, the total area of the project is 3.98 hectares. The total investment is 694,598 billion VND, including 2 apartment buildings CC1 and CC2. Apartment building CC1 has been completed, 73 cases are eligible to buy houses and currently 46 households have moved in; CC2 has completed the pile foundation.

Evaluating the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha welcomed the efforts of the investor, contractors and construction units in shortening the project implementation time. The completion of the project proves that Vietnam has mastered the technologies related to bridge and road construction, connecting traffic between localities, promoting regional socio-economic development.

It is necessary to assess the skills and resources of cadres to assign work appropriately. It is necessary to have measures to increase the efficiency of handling and improve the process. Review and simplify administrative procedures, especially in the fields of land, construction, investment... Strengthen measures to improve the efficiency of handling records and procedures. Clearly define the responsibilities of each level and each cadre in handling work.
