Tap water turns black

Many residents of Hoa My Hamlet, My Xuyen Ward, have recently reported that the quality of tap water provided by the water plant is not up to standard. Many times in the past month, the tap water was black and mixed with impurities... Residents of Hoa My Hamlet said that there was a time when the water was black and had impurities for 2-3 days, and a lot of it had to be drained before it could be used.

Mr. Tran Thanh Nhan, Deputy General Director of Soc Trang Water Supply Joint Stock Company (SocTrangWaco), explained that the above situation was due to the fact that about a month ago, the Company's My Xuyen 3 Water Plant exploited additional deep underground water wells to provide enough clean water for people in My Xuyen Ward, Phu Loi Ward and Soc Trang Ward. Because it was just put into operation, the water source was not stable, and Hoa My Hamlet was at the end of the source, so the quality was not guaranteed. Knowing the feedback, the Company will thoroughly fix it, ensuring to serve the needs of the people well.
