Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang is a former student of Vo Ninh Secondary School ( Quang Binh ). In the entrance exam for grade 10 specialized in chemistry at Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted, she achieved a total score of 48.35/50 points.
Specifically, the general exam score is calculated with coefficient 1 as follows: math 10 points; English 10 points, literature 8.75 points. Hang's specialized chemistry exam scored 9.8 points and was calculated with coefficient 2.
Since 8th grade, Hang has been determined to pursue the goal of passing the entrance exam to the specialized chemistry class of Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted, after she was selected to be in the chemistry team of Vo Ninh Secondary School.
The team spirit as well as the encouragement and motivation of teachers helped Hang develop a passion for chemistry.
Solving difficult exercises and getting good results in competitions for excellent students makes Hang have more love, joy, and confidence to pursue her goals.
In grade 8, I won second prize in the district-level chemistry competition. In grade 9, I won first prize in the provincial-level chemistry competition.
Natural talent is important, but diligent practice is more important.
According to Hang, self-study is very important to her learning results. During self-study time, she goes online to find documents, takes advantage of open question banks available online to do excellent student exams and specialized exams from previous years. In addition, she borrows additional reference materials from teachers.
Hang pays close attention to the step of correcting the questions. For the wrong questions or the ones that are not presented concisely and accurately, she will take notes to deepen the knowledge she has not yet mastered.

As a female student interested in chemistry as well as other natural sciences , Hang believes that to study these subjects well, one must first have talent. But more than that, students need to be diligent, persistent, have a spirit of overcoming difficulties and have a scientific and effective study plan.
I personally pay a lot of attention to creating a scientific schedule, setting out clear and specific plans and goals for each stage. This helps Hang balance well between studying, resting and entertaining.
Hang's advice for girls who are passionate about natural sciences is to build a specific study program that suits their abilities and speed.
In the process of implementing the plan, you need to maintain your spirit, be persistent, persevere, and overcome the stages of feeling difficult and discouraged in studying.
When you feel it is too difficult and you cannot solve it yourself, you should seek out teachers, seniors who share the same passion for learning, to receive effective advice and support.
Hang affirms that learning is never simple or easy, even for those who have outstanding talent in a certain subject. During the learning process, one thing is certain: there will be times when learners encounter difficult problems, periods of unstable performance, and even feel discouraged and tired.
Even in life, there are always problems that arise. For example, at my age, sometimes friends misunderstand each other and have conflicts with each other, which makes me think and feel sad.
The logic of Hang's problem solving in both study and life is to first of all stay calm. Calmness will help her see through the problem she is facing, and know how to overcome it.
Once I have some direction for myself, I will start planning what I can do to solve the problem effectively.
Good students also have their own difficulties and worries.
Hang admits that sometimes she still feels she lacks time, energy and intelligence to do all the things she wants to do, such as studying, playing sports , drawing, spending time with friends, helping her parents with housework...
However, according to teacher Thuy Van - chemistry teacher of Vo Ninh Secondary School - Hang is a perfect class monitor, always patient and actively supports her friends in their studies.

When asked why she sometimes feels like she lacks time and energy, but is always willing to help her friends with their studies, Hang simply said: "Because I'm lucky to have a good relationship with my friends."
Hang's family has a tradition of pursuing the medical profession, her parents oriented her to become a doctor. This is also Hang's dream, because she wants to cure diseases and save people.
When asked about the difficulties and challenges she has overcome in her learning journey up to this point, Hang said that there were times when she felt exhausted and discouraged. There were peak review periods, a tight study schedule, a large amount of homework and knowledge, and she always felt like she lacked time.
There were times when I felt it was too difficult to do everything well at the same time, but to overcome the inevitable pressure, I thought about my dream: the dream of pursuing a medical career, becoming a doctor, continuing the good tradition of my family. I had faith in myself on the journey to realize that dream and I continued to persevere.
What is special about Hang is that she is proactive and has a very good sense of self-awareness. She arranges her own time to do everything in her studies and life. Her parents and teachers do not need to remind her. She knows how to take time to play table tennis, volleyball, draw... to help herself regain balance after stressful study hours.
The female student exudes intelligence, determination, strength, but is still very feminine and skillful. She answered the interview quickly, decisively, concisely, and expressed exactly what she wanted to say.
Hang has a cheerful, natural and innocent way of talking. She admits that she is "not photogenic" and rarely uses her phone, so she doesn't have many photos of herself. In the way she answers interviews, the class monitor always interacts and cooperates very quickly, full of goodwill.
Teacher Thuy Van commented that Hang is a hard-working student, has a good ability to concentrate, a strong personality, and is full of determination and willpower. These are the things that have helped her make great progress in her studies in the last two years of middle school.
Ms. Thuy Van highly appreciates Hang's self-study spirit. She is one of the students with the best learning attitude she has ever seen.
Outside of studying, Hang is a sociable, easy-going female student with good group management skills. This helps her fulfill her duties as a class monitor, while still maintaining a harmonious and happy relationship with her friends.
