From around 0:30 this morning, people in many areas across the country began to observe this special phenomenon.
Even though it was midnight, many people were still present around the lake and in open areas to watch the "blood moon".
The special thing about this lunar eclipse is that it occurs just 2.6 days before the Moon reaches perigee - meaning the Moon will be larger and darker than usual, creating a super "blood moon" phenomenon.
