According to Tuoi Tre Online , the area around Vinh Nghiem Pagoda (Xuan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) suddenly had heavy rain. However, that could not stop many people and Buddhists from solemnly worshiping and listening to Dharma teachings on the occasion of Vu Lan festival.

Standing in front of the Bodhisattva statue in the temple yard, many people wore raincoats and respectfully prayed for the best things for themselves and their families.

On his way from his workplace in Phu Nhuan ward to Vinh Nghiem pagoda in the rain, Bao Hung (26 years old) said he was praying for peace and health for himself and his loved ones.

"I hope everyone has a meaningful Vu Lan day," Hung added.

Along the Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe canal, many pagodas are also lit up, with splendid flags and flowers, joining thousands of Buddhists in praying on the occasion of Vu Lan festival.
