Although located more than 10 km from the center of Sa Pa National Tourist Area, the terraced fields in Ta Van still attract tourists with their golden, stretching beauty. Amidst the shimmering terraced fields, villages appear close together, creating a peaceful, vibrant picture. Tourists come here not only to check-in but also to breathe in the scent of ripe rice. Amidst the immense yellow color, community tourism spots appear simply with kitchen smoke rising to the sky, bringing an unforgettable sense of peace.
At this time, on the terraced fields, the yellow color of ripe rice intertwines with the deep brown of the soil, creating a fascinating multi-colored picture. A check-in point.
Rest stops and small cafes among the terraced fields offer visitors a rare experience. Tourists coming to Ta Van can also experience beeswax painting and brocade embroidery right at community tourism spots. During the recent September 2nd holiday, the commune welcomed 19,205 visitors, with revenue from tourism and services reaching over 107 billion VND. The attraction of terraced fields, sometimes green stretching across the mountainous region, sometimes golden in the ripening season, has made Ta Van a destination not only domestically but also internationally.
On July 15, 2025, the South China Morning Post (SCMP) listed Ta Van village (Ta Van commune, Lao Cai ) among the six most beautiful "cloud villages" in Asia, along with famous destinations in China, Bhutan, the Philippines and India.
