Da Lat area currently has 3 bus stations, 23 public parking lots and about 40 internal parking lots serving tourist areas, supermarkets, markets and hotels. Total area is about 9.28 hectares.
Overall assessment shows that the current capacity only meets about 10.1% of the calculated parking demand of the area's residents. If the number of tourists coming during the peak tourist season is added, the current capacity only meets 6.2% of the calculated parking demand.

In fact, during peak tourist season or weekends, the lack of parking space, rampant parking, causing disorder and traffic safety is a very serious problem in the Da Lat area, especially around 7:30 am and late afternoon.

The representative of the Department of Construction also reported the proposal to invest in building a bus station combined with a parking lot at the Darahoa intersection and the parking lot at the beginning of Prenn Pass.
In particular, the parking lot combined with the bus station at the Darahoa intersection, in sub-area 144A, Lac Duong commune, with a scale of 36.69 hectares, serves about 817 bus parking spaces, 83 small bus parking spaces, 60 taxi and car parking spaces, serving about 35,000 people. The total investment is about over 884 billion VND.

The parking lot at the beginning of Prenn Pass (Hiep Thanh commune) has an area of over 38 hectares, with a capacity of 790 seats for buses (50-seat passenger vans), about 122 seats for minibuses and about 200 seats for taxis and cars; serving about 34,000 people.

The smart parking project in Da Lat area is expected to be piloted at Lien Nghia Duc Trong market parking lot and Da Lat market parking lot in the form of closed and open fee collection. The investment is expected to be about 500 million VND, arranged from the provincial budget. This project, after the pilot period and based on the assessment and overcoming of difficulties and obstacles, will be expanded in the province.

At the meeting, departments, sectors, localities and enterprises discussed the following contents: planning, investment costs, capital recovery ability of private parking lots, and analysis of causes leading to local traffic congestion.
Delegates also proposed many solutions to promote the effectiveness of parking lots such as: basic investigation of road planning, maintaining and promoting parking on even and odd days; parking by the hour, on weekends; researching and proposing toll collection levels by turn, by peak times of the day and applying information technology solutions in parking lot management and exploitation.

In his concluding remarks, Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, requested relevant departments, branches, and localities in the Da Lat area to continue to coordinate with the Provincial Police to regulate and reduce pressure on traffic infrastructure, and solve parking needs of residents and tourists.
In particular, there needs to be immediate and long-term solutions in traffic management. At the same time, we need to focus on promoting the organization of surveys of the current situation, assessing traffic volume and time at locations at risk of frequent traffic jams to regulate hours, vehicles and long-term construction solutions.

Regarding the two large parking lots at the intersection of Darahoa and Deo Prenn, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai assigned the Department of Construction to preside over the review of the current land status, planning documents, and procedural documents to propose progress, roadmap, and methods. In particular, focusing on site clearance to complete the ring road as soon as possible, relieving traffic pressure in Da Lat. Along with that, proposing key projects to meet travel needs and reduce traffic pressure in the period of 2025-2030.
