In order to cope with the recent fluctuations in the stock market, the State Securities Commission has requested the stock exchanges to strengthen their supervision, proactively detect and handle transactions with signs of abnormality. According to the State Securities Commission, the stock exchanges have implemented many supervision measures in the past, but in the context of the market having unusual fluctuations in indexes and trading volume, stronger intervention from market operators is needed.
Specifically, exchanges need to closely monitor stocks with sharp price fluctuations compared to the general market level or compared to stocks in the same industry, and must carefully review information spread in the press, social networks, forums, and groups related to stocks that are of particular interest to investors or show signs of manipulation. In case of detecting unusual transactions, exchanges need to conduct analysis and evaluation, then report to the State Securities Commission and propose appropriate handling measures.
