The river that creates the beauty of the Harbin ice sculpture

VnExpressVnExpress26/11/2023

China The ice sculptures in Harbin are famous for their crystal clear, foam-free quality, due to the special waters of the Songhua River.

Harbin is the capital of Heilongjiang province in northeastern China. The city grew from a small rural settlement on the Songhua River to become one of the largest cities in northeastern China in 1898 thanks to the China Eastern Railway project.

With an average annual temperature of 4.25 °C and an extreme low of -42.6 °C, Harbin is nicknamed the "Ice City" for its thriving winter tourism industry, notably the annual ice and snow festival. Ice and snow sculptures are the art of ice sculptures, which when displayed are combined with lights, creating a magical, shimmering beauty.
