iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max launched with up to 2TB of internal memory

After months of waiting, Apple has officially introduced its two latest high-end iPhone models: iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max.

The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max are the successors to last year's iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, featuring a completely new camera cluster design with three 48MP lenses, a LiDAR sensor, and a flashlight integrated on the side.

One of the most notable changes is that the body is made from an aluminum alloy instead of the titanium of previous generations. Apple says that this new aluminum alloy is 20 times more thermally efficient than titanium. Meanwhile, the unibody design with Ceramic Shield back makes it 4 times more resistant to cracks, while the screen is protected by Ceramic Shield 2, which is 3 times more scratch resistant. A new anti-reflective coating also improves outdoor usability.

In terms of performance, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are equipped with an A19 Pro chip with a 6-core CPU, including 2 high-performance cores and 4 energy-saving cores. The second-generation Dynamic Caching technology in the 6-core GPU combines Neural Accelerators for each GPU core to increase computing performance by 3 times compared to the A18 Pro. Apple claims this is the same technology as the MacBook Pro, with 40% better sustained performance than last year's models. In addition, the new Wi-Fi chip called N1 supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Threads.

The cameras on the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max have also been significantly upgraded, with the 18 MP Center Stage front camera providing high-resolution photography from multiple angles. The selfie camera also has improved anti-shake capabilities, similar to the Action Mode function.

On the back, all three cameras on the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max have a resolution of 48 MP with Fusion technology that allows users to get more details even when zooming. Apple promises up to 8x optical zoom and up to 40x digital zoom, with the main sensor being 56% larger than the previous generation.

For video recording, the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max support ProRes RAW, a codec for high-quality video production, along with precise syncing between different cameras via the new BlackMagic ProDock accessory. Users can also shoot video in 4K 120fps and Dolby Vision HDR.

In terms of battery life, the iPhone 17 Pro Max alone promises an impressive 39 hours of battery life, which is considered the best ever in the iPhone lineup. All iPhone 17 Pro models start with 256GB of storage, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max has the option of up to 2TB - a first for an iPhone model.

The starting price for the iPhone 17 Pro is $1,099 and $1,199 for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, essentially unchanged from its predecessor due to the removal of the 128GB storage option. The 2TB iPhone 17 Pro Max costs $1,999, making it the most expensive iPhone to date.

Finally, both products are available in Blue, Orange, and Silver colors. Apple will start accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 17 Pro on September 12, before officially launching on September 19.
