The province's existing transport infrastructure system will continue to be managed and implemented according to the planning of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc , and Hoa Binh provinces (before the merger) for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, which has been approved by the Prime Minister for the provincial planning. There are currently three types of roads in the province: roads, inland waterways, and railways.
National Highway 32 is invested in expanding in a synchronous and modern direction.
After the merger, the Department of Construction inspected and reviewed the planning and plans, and compiled and sent to the Department of Finance a list of 72 projects with a total investment of about VND 81,088.1 billion. Proposing competent authorities to consider including in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026-2030, including 12 key projects with connectivity, inter-regional impact and serving the centralized direction and management of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, which need to be prioritized for early investment implementation; 14 projects have been approved by competent authorities of Vinh Phuc province (before the merger).
8 projects have been decided by the People's Committee of Phu Tho province (before the merger) to allocate capital for investment preparation: Inter-regional traffic route project connecting Viet Tri ward with Hoa Binh ward; project to renovate and expand Hung Vuong Square and build Hung Vuong tower; construction of Cao Phong bridge over Lo river and the road connecting the central wards of Phu Tho province with Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway at IC6 intersection; inter-regional traffic route from Ho Chi Minh road, Thanh Hoa province to National Highway 6 and CT.03 highway through Hoa Binh province; investment project to build a traffic route connecting from Ta Song Hong dike to Van Phuc bridge; project to build the capital's Ring Road 5 from Vinh Thinh bridge to IC5 intersection of Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway; investment in the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau highway section (section Km0 - Km19); upgrading and expanding the North - South axis road of Vinh Phuc urban area, section from Ring Road 2, Vinh Yen ward to Tam Dao commune; Phu Tho Provincial Administrative Center Construction Project,...
The Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway section through Cao Son commune is being accelerated in construction progress.
In mid-August, Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong gave instructions on the implementation of key transport projects in the province, including: Viet Tri - Hoa Binh connecting road project; Hoa Lac - Hoa Binh road construction investment project and renovation and upgrading of National Highway 6, Xuan Mai - Hoa Binh section under the public-private partnership model; Hanoi - Lao Cai railway parallel road project, Viet Tri - Hoa Binh connecting road.
Request the Department of Construction to urgently develop plans to seek the opinion of the Provincial Party Standing Committee as soon as possible, focusing on thorough analysis of the basic route direction, land fund, total investment; selecting consulting units and investors with capacity and experience in road development. Each plan must clearly state the advantages and difficulties in the project implementation process and must have a specific implementation plan to speed up the construction progress and ensure the quality of the project.
For the Hoa Lac - Hoa Binh road construction investment project and the renovation and upgrading of National Highway 6, Xuan Mai - Hoa Binh section under the public-private partnership method with a total investment of 10,475 billion VND, the Hoa Binh Regional Land Fund Development Center and localities where the project passes through are assigned to carry out site clearance well.
National Highway 6 is expanded to meet travel needs and socio-economic development.
For the Hanoi - Lao Cai Railway Parallel Road Project, assign the Vinh Phuc Regional Land Fund Development Center to coordinate with communes and wards to mobilize the entire political system to join in drastically accelerating site clearance, seamlessly handing over the site to the construction unit and determined to complete the Northern route from National Highway 2C to Hop Thinh - Dao Tu road before December 31, 2025, and open the entire route in August 2026.
It can be seen that the province has been focusing resources on prioritizing the synchronous development of transport infrastructure, especially regional transport connectivity and key transport projects, which is a correct policy, consistent with practical requirements when considering this as one of the strategic breakthroughs in infrastructure development in particular and socio-economic development in general.
