More than 60 world quantum scientists gathered in Quy Nhon City

On June 9, at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh), the Rencontres du Vietnam in collaboration with the ICISE Center and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN, France) opened a scientific event with the theme: "Advanced Summer School on Quantum Field Theory and Quantum Gravity 2025".

The program has the participation and direct and online teaching of many world- leading professors in the field of theoretical physics and quantum gravity, including Professor Juan Maldacena (Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, USA) - the father of the Maldacena hypothesis, the foundation for the deep connection between gravity and string theory; Professor Andrew Strominger (Harvard University, USA) - a pioneer in black hole research; Professor Erik Verlinde (University of Amsterdam, Netherlands) - author of the theory "gravity is a buoyant phenomenon".

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Professor Laurent Baulieu, Laboratory of Theoretical Physics and High Energy, Sorbonne University (France), Head of the Summer School Organizing Committee, emphasized the significance and importance of bringing the program to Vietnam for the second consecutive time, after the success in Quy Nhon City two years ago.

Initiated nearly three decades ago by Professor Laurent Baulieu at the Cargèse Center (Corsica, France), the Advanced Summer School on Quantum Field Theory and Quantum Gravity has been organized for more than 14 sessions, attracting more than 1,000 international students.

The program is sponsored by more than 30 leading theoretical physics professors, including four Nobel Prize winners in Physics - three of whom have taught at scientific programs in Vietnam organized by the Vietnam Science Encounter.

This year, the Summer School also has the presence of many other famous scientists such as: Professor Shiraz Minwalla (Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, India), Professor Dam Thanh Son (University of Chicago, USA), Professor Nathan Berkovits (International Center for Theoretical Physics, Brazil), Professor Suvrat Raju (India)...

Professor Tran Thanh Van, President of the Rencontres du Vietnam, said: The Quantum Summer School is not only an intensive training course, but also an international forum where students from the US, France, Germany, Japan, India, China, Ireland, Israel, Brazil, Iran, Argentina, Indonesia, Korea, Vietnam, etc. meet, learn and broaden their scientific horizons.

Through lectures, group discussions and direct interactions with professors, students will approach core principles as well as the latest research directions in quantum field theory and quantum gravity - the foundations that are promoting technology fields such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, particle physics and materials technology...

The 2025 Quantum Summer School will help raise Vietnam's recognition and position on the international science map; at the same time, contribute to making Quy Nhon City a prestigious academic destination, a place where the pinnacle of world science and Vietnam's thirst for knowledge intersect.
