In that exciting atmosphere, a simple but warm story in Xuan Trach village, Dong Anh commune left an unforgettable impression: People volunteered to be “traffic volunteers”, using personal motorbikes to transport tourists for free to overcome traffic jams to be on time for their sightseeing.

Large-scale exhibition, crowds like a festival
From the morning of August 28, the National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh commune opened its doors to welcome visitors to the Exhibition of achievements of the country and Hanoi with the theme "80 years of the Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness". This is a major event, not only recreating the 80-year historical journey of the country's development, but also affirming the aspirations of the Vietnamese people to rise up in the new era.
The scale of the exhibition is considered the largest ever, spanning hundreds of thousands of square meters, with more than 230 booths of ministries, branches, localities and enterprises. Outstanding achievements in industry, agriculture , science - technology, education, health, culture, national defense - security are introduced in many visual and vivid forms. The spaces "Vietnam - Journey to a new era", "Aspiration for the sky - For a green future" or "95 years of the Party Flag lighting the way" attract a large number of visitors.
The attraction of the exhibition is clearly shown through the statistics of the Organizing Committee: After 10 days, there were about 6.5 million visitors. During peak days, the number of visitors exceeded 1 million/day, creating a scene of dense crowds lasting from morning to night. The Organizing Committee had to increase thousands of volunteers, open more free bus and tram routes within the area, set up many information booths, distribute tourist guides... The Prime Minister also decided to extend the exhibition time to September 15 so that people across the country have more opportunities to visit.

However, along with the joy, the huge attraction also caused the area around the exhibition to be overloaded at times. The roads leading to the center, especially Truong Sa Street, were congested for kilometers. The traffic was crowded, the horns were blaring, many families had to get out to push their bikes, the children were exhausted, the elderly were impatient and worried. In the middle of that "intersection", a beautiful action was born, spreading the community spirit.
Xuan Trach people - "volunteers" of the people's hearts
Xuan Trach village is located right next to the exhibition area. During peak days, villagers witnessed traffic jams for hours. Without anyone telling them, they volunteered to direct traffic, guide tourists through small alleys, and even used their personal motorbikes to take tourists through the jam.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Tu, a villager, stopped his car to catch his breath and smiled: "Seeing people from all over stuck in traffic makes me so impatient! I know the way here, so I have a motorbike to take a few trips, to contribute a little to the common atmosphere."

Mr. Bui Van Cong, from Xuan Trach village, said that during the exhibition, people from all over the place came to the exhibition in large numbers, and many vehicles entered the village, but the people did not know the way to the exhibition. When they saw this, some young people from Xuan Trach village decided to form a team to transport vehicles to the national exhibition for free through the path from Xuan Trach village. The team quickly received the approval of the local people. Every day, nearly 40 motorbikes took turns transporting people to and from the national exhibition...

Continuing Mr. Cong's story, Mrs. Bui Thi Nhan, 62 years old, said: "My house is near the entrance to the exhibition. Seeing guests with backpacks and children crying because of the heat, I immediately took the family's old motorbike and carried each group near the gate. Sometimes we had to go back and forth three or four times. It was tiring, but very fun." Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tu confided: "We are young, healthy, and know the village roads and alleys well, so we consider helping guests as contributing to promoting the image of our homeland. Visitors to Dong Anh who are welcomed with human kindness will definitely remember it forever."

Not only young people, but also the elderly contributed. Mr. Bui Van Vien, although over 70 years old, volunteered to walk and guide visitors through shortcuts to get them to the exhibition on time...
These simple stories moved many tourists. Mr. Le Quang Minh, a tourist from Nam Dinh, said: "My family was stuck for nearly an hour, we thought we would not make it. Luckily, an old man in the village took my wife and children in first, then came back to pick me up. It was a small thing but it made me feel warm, like I was welcomed with all my heart."

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Van Khai, from Hung Yen, said: "I was surprised to see people regulating and transporting passengers by motorbike. This is not only a form of hospitality, but also shows the high community spirit of the Vietnamese people."
The images of the caring and diligent Xuan Trach people amidst the crowded crowd have eased fatigue and spread joy. Without needing titles or praise, they have become special “volunteers” of the exhibition.

The exhibition of achievements of the country and Hanoi was not only successful in terms of scale, number of visitors, or content displayed, but also in such simple humane stories. The actions of the people of Xuan Trach added beautiful colors to the overall picture, showing the vitality of community culture, the sense of responsibility, and hospitality of the people of the capital...
