In 2025, there will be nearly 10 capacity and thinking assessment exams organized by universities and colleges. Of these, three large-scale exams with the largest number of candidates and the most schools using the results include: Ho Chi Minh City National University Capacity Assessment Exam, Hanoi National University Capacity Assessment Exam, and Hanoi University of Science and Technology Thinking Assessment Exam.
Up to now, about 40 universities nationwide have announced the floor score (threshold to ensure input quality) based on the method of considering the test scores to assess capacity and thinking in 2025.
Foreign Trade University accepts applications from candidates with a score of 100/150 or higher on the Hanoi National University's aptitude test, 850/1,200 points on the Ho Chi Minh City National University's aptitude test in 2025, or 60/100 points on the Hanoi University of Science and Technology's thinking test.
This is the school with the highest minimum score in the country for the method of considering test scores to assess ability and thinking. The corresponding minimum score for each test to enter the National Economics University: 80, 60, 700 points; University of Transport: 75, 50, 600 points or more.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry announced the minimum score for the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City National University Competency Assessment Test: all general program majors from 650 points; all English-enhanced program majors: 600 points (without coefficient; priority points not added and not applicable to the law group). The law group has a minimum score of 720 points, while the minimum Vietnamese score is 180 points and the minimum math score is 180 points.
The Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology announced the minimum scores for the 2025 capacity assessment and thinking exams: the capacity assessment exam of Ho Chi Minh City National University from 600 points, the capacity assessment exam of Hanoi National University from 75 points; the thinking assessment exam of Hanoi University of Science and Technology from 50 points; the capacity assessment exam of Hanoi National University of Education from 15 points.
The minimum score for admission to Ho Chi Minh City National University's 2025 competency assessment exam of Van Hien University is expected to be from 600 points for all majors (except nursing, piano, vocal music).
Nguyen Tat Thanh University announced the minimum score for the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment test from 550 points and the Hanoi National University's competency assessment test from 70 points.
