Accompanying farmers to change crop structure

The People's Committee of Lien Son Lak commune has just coordinated with Tuan Nguyen Plant Seed Production and Distribution and Service Cooperative (Tuan Nguyen Cooperative) to present 600 Dona durian seedlings to 12 households in Le, Dong Bak and Dar Ju villages. This is one of the specific activities to implement Resolution No. 01 dated July 28, 2025 of the Lien Son Lak Commune Party Committee on tasks and solutions for socio -economic development and improving people's lives.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Lien Son Lak Commune, said that the restructuring of crops and livestock is one of the focuses of the resolution of the Commune Party Committee. Through supporting high-value crop varieties such as durian, the local government hopes to help people boldly change traditional farming methods and expand production. This activity not only helps develop the family economy but also contributes to making the agricultural sector in the commune increasingly prosperous, creating a premise for the development of the commune.

One of the households receiving trees this time, Mr. Y Per Eung, Le village, shared that his family has 1.5 hectares of cultivated land in Dak Phoi commune, about 8 km from his house. Up to now, his family has only grown coffee, cashew and avocado. Having recently received support for durian seedlings, he hopes that the trees will adapt to the land and climate conditions to bring economic efficiency to his family.

Not only in Lien Son Lak commune, Dak Phoi commune People's Committee also coordinated with Tuan Nguyen Cooperative to donate 400 durian trees and 150 bamboo seedlings for bamboo shoots to households in the area.

Dak Phoi has land and soil suitable for agricultural development, but due to limitations in applying science and technology to production, the poverty rate is still high. Before the merger, Dak Phoi commune had well implemented Resolution No. 05 of the Lak District Party Committee (old) on leading the implementation of crop and livestock restructuring in the period of 2021 - 2025. This is a breakthrough resolution to promote agricultural restructuring, associated with local economic development. Many activities to support plant varieties for people have been implemented, bringing certain results. Following those results, after merging and operating the new government model, Dak Phoi commune continued to promote coordination with enterprises and cooperatives to support plant varieties with high economic value, helping people have more opportunities to escape poverty.

Dak Phoi Commune gives durian seedlings to local people.

Mr. Hoang Van Minh (Cao Bang village) shared that previously, his family grew about 8 sao of coffee. But with a new farming mindset, for the past 2 years, his family has intercropped durian and some other fruit trees to diversify crops and increase income.

According to Mr. Duong Ngoc Toan, Director of Tuan Nguyen Cooperative, a unit that produces and distributes seedlings in the area, in recent years, the Cooperative and local authorities have accompanied farmers in converting crop structures. Realizing that the localities of Lak district (old) have suitable soil and climate conditions for durian - a crop that has brought high economic value to Dak Lak farmers in recent years, the Cooperative has allocated a portion of its profits to support seedlings for local people.
