Officers and soldiers of Quang Chieu Border Guard Station coordinated with local authorities to build houses for people in Pu Dua village, Quang Chieu commune (Muong Lat).

Promoting the tradition of solidarity and close ties with the people in the border area, the Na Meo International Border Guard Station located in Quan Son district always sticks closely to the grassroots, sticks closely to the people, and coordinates with the Party Committee and authorities to build and deploy many effective agricultural economic models, associated with propaganda and mobilizing people to participate in protecting border sovereignty and security, building potential and a strong people's border defense posture. Typically, the unit has coordinated with the District Department of Agriculture and Environment to guide households in Che Lau village, Na Meo commune on techniques for caring for and intensively cultivating yellow-fleshed taro plants to bring high economic efficiency. According to calculations, on average, each hectare of yellow-fleshed taro yields from 7 tons to 8 tons/crop, worth about 100 million VND. After deducting costs, people can earn about 80 million VND/crop from 1 hectare of taro.

In addition, the Na Meo International Border Guard Station also coordinated with the District Department of Agriculture and Environment to implement a two-crop rice cultivation model with a yield of over 5 tons/ha, an increase of 2 tons/ha compared to traditional cultivation in 3 Mong ethnic villages: Mua Xuan, Xia Noi, Che Lau; planting 60 hectares of dry-season rice in 12 villages of Vieng Xay district (Lao PDR);...

At Tam Thanh Border Guard Station (Quan Son), it has coordinated with associations and organizations such as the Farmers' Association and the District Women's Union to implement a model of breeding cows for reproduction, thereby helping members, especially poor members, to develop their economy , increase their income, and stabilize their lives. From the effectiveness of the model, the Quan Son District Women's Union has continued to replicate and establish more models of breeding cows for reproduction groups in communes in Quan Son District, creating a ripple effect in the economic development movement to help each other escape poverty among female members in the district.

Similarly, with the spirit of initiative and responsibility, the Border Guard units stationed in Muong Lat district have also implemented many movements and models to help people develop their socio-economy, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction in the border area. A series of production models have been built and replicated in many localities, contributing to helping ethnic minorities in the border areas develop their lives and increase their income. Typically, Quang Chieu Border Guard Station coordinated with the Hanoi Agricultural Institute and local authorities to organize technical guidance on planting and caring for high-yield cassava for the people of Pu Dua village; Tam Chung Border Guard Station deployed and disseminated the content of the pilot model "Bright Village in the Border Area"; organized for people to visit the "Green Vegetable Garden" at pilot households, presented 200 ducklings to 6 poor households, assigned party members to be in charge, helping households develop their economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty; Trung Ly Border Guard Station coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Commune Women's Union to organize direct communication conferences for nearly 200 women members and people of Tung, Kham 1, and Kham 2 villages on the content of eliminating gender prejudice and building an equal and safe living environment for women and children...

Along with the attention to building effective economic models for the people, the Provincial Border Guard also implemented many meaningful and practical emulation movements and campaigns, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people in the mountainous areas of Thanh Hoa. In particular, many models have had a wide influence and practical significance, such as: "Doctors and teachers in green uniforms", the program "Helping children go to school", "Adopted children of border guards", "Military-civilian Tet", "Military-civilian infirmary", "Border shelter"... Or the model "Bright village in the border area"; "Accompanying women in the border area"; "Border spring warms the hearts of the villagers"; "Border pulling hands"; "Border guards join hands for the poor - leaving no one behind"... In addition, officers and soldiers of the mountainous border guards also contributed over 10,000 working days to help people repair and build new houses; build rural roads; overcoming natural disasters, storms and floods; harvesting crops... From the above meaningful activities, the socio-economic development in each locality has been promoted, multiplying the solidarity between the army and the people, contributing to firmly protecting the sovereignty of the national border.

The activities of the Border Guard have brought practical significance, creating widespread influence, affirming the role and position as well as leaving a good impression in the hearts of the people about the image of soldiers in green uniforms at the border.
