On the morning of July 22, cash flow continued to flow into the stock market after the VN-Index fell sharply yesterday. At the end of the trading session, the VN-Index increased by more than 6 points, to 1,491 points, recovering what was lost in the previous session. The value of stock transactions on the HoSE reached nearly VND17,200 billion, about 20% higher than the average of the last 20 sessions.

The "Vin family" stocks group increased again, along with the attractiveness of some banking, technology ( FPT ), aviation (VJC) and steel (HPG) stocks,... which are the driving force pulling the market up.

The bright spot on the stock market on the morning of July 22 was VJC shares of VietJet Air, chaired by Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao. This stock hit the ceiling, despite foreign investors selling very strongly, nearly 20.2 million units, while only buying about 380,000 units in the morning. The net selling volume was nearly 20 million units, through negotiated transactions at the price of VND94,000/share, with a total value of VND2,000 billion.

Despite the strong selling pressure from foreign investors, VietJet shares recorded a buy surplus at the ceiling price of more than 2.2 million units. VJC shares increased by VND6,600 to VND101,700/share.

In the previous session, on July 21, VJC increased nearly 2% to VND95,100/share, helping billionaire Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao's assets increase by more than 140 million USD, reaching 2.8 billion USD according to Forbes' estimate.

With a 7% increase, Ms. Thao's assets are expected to increase by nearly 200 million USD, reaching about 3 billion USD on the morning of July 22. Ms. Thao is the second richest person on the Vietnamese stock market, after billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong (with 11.9 billion USD as of July 21).

VietJet has recently received a lot of positive news. The airline won a contract worth over 1,500 billion VND at Long Thanh airport, providing aircraft maintenance services at this airport and is expected to operate from 2026 until December 31, 2050.

At the Techcombank Investment Summit 2025 on the morning of July 9, Ms. Thao said that investors who have been with Vietjet since its listing on HoSE have seen its stock value increase about 5 times. Those who have been with Vietjet since earlier, about 5 years earlier, have seen their growth increase nearly 100 times.

Since its establishment, Vietjet has transported more than 220 million passengers. In 2024 alone, it will carry 28 million passengers, of which nearly 10 million are international passengers.

Vietjet, along with its member companies and partners in the Sovico Group, are expanding their investments into many strategic areas, with a total proposed capital of hundreds of billions of USD by 2033. The airline has signed a series of contracts with Boeing, General Electric (GE), Pratt & Whitney, RTX, Honeywell, SpaceX and Airbus.

In a recent announcement, Aviation Joint Stock Company reported that it has become a major shareholder of VietJet after purchasing an additional 25 million shares, raising its total ownership to 35 million units (equivalent to 5.92% of capital).

According to VJC, the airline offered 50 million individual shares at VND100,000/share. The total amount raised was more than VND4,900 billion, of which Aviation bought 25 million shares. Dynamic & Development Investment JSC holds 25 million shares, accounting for 4.23% of VJC's capital.

VJC increased its charter capital from more than VND 5,416 billion to more than VND 5,916 billion.

VJC also recently appointed Mr. Philipp Rösler (born 1973) - former German Vice Chancellor of Vietnamese origin - as a member of the Board of Directors of VJC for the 2022-2027 term.

In the first quarter, VJC recorded consolidated sales revenue of nearly VND18 trillion and pre-tax profit of VND836 billion, up 24% over the same period.

At the end of the trading session on July 22, the VN-Index increased by 24.49 points (+1.65%) to 1,509.54 points, overcoming all the losses in the previous session. Liquidity reached nearly 33.3 trillion VND on the HoSE floor.

Vietjet Air has a new CEO, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao as Chairwoman of the Board of Directors Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (Vietjet Air) has just announced information related to the appointment of senior personnel. Accordingly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao will assume the position of Chairwoman of the company's Board of Directors.
