According to records, after one day of inauguration, thousands of cars of all kinds were circulating on this new route.

In general, drivers were excited about the open highway. Mr. Chu Luu Ha (refrigerated truck driver, license plate 77H-53xxx) said that drivers knew that the highway from Cam Lo to Vung Ang was open, so they chose this route to save time. However, because it was a new route, drivers contacted and shared information with each other about the route, such as when reaching the end of the Bung - Vung Ang section, they needed to turn down from Deo But tunnel, following Ky Anh bypass, because bridge number 1 on the route was still under repair, then turn back to the highway to the North.

After a day of operation, many drivers commented that the new route is comfortable, has no residential areas, and operates according to regulations while still delivering goods early. “The highway is clear, there are no intersections so it is safe,” driver Tran Van ( Hue ) shared.

However, the current problem is that there are no rest stops on the approximately 170km stretch from Cam Lo to Vung Ang. “We have to stop at the emergency stop strip because driving long distances without stopping is very dangerous. I hope a rest stop will be built soon so that drivers have a place to rest,” said driver Tran Van.

The three North-South expressway component projects through Ha Tinh and Quang Tri that have just been completed have a total length of nearly 170km, with an investment capital of over VND31,800 billion, including the Vung Ang - Bung route of more than 55km (investment capital of VND12,540 billion), the Bung - Van Ninh section of nearly 49km (investment capital of VND9,361 billion), and the Van Ninh - Cam Lo section of 65.5km (investment capital of VND9,920 billion).

Putting these expressways into operation will not only shorten the North-South travel time but also promote the socio -economic development of the Central region. However, to exploit them effectively, it is necessary to urgently build rest stops according to the planning, helping drivers have a place to eat, rest and recuperate, thereby ensuring traffic safety on this new route.
