On the evening of September 29, Huy Hoang entered the finals of the 400m freestyle swimming event. Although he was at a disadvantage in the first 350m, he made an impressive breakthrough in the last 50m and won the bronze medal with a time of 3 minutes 49 seconds 16.

On the morning of September 29, in the shooting event, shooter Trinh Thu Vinh scored 580 points in the qualifying round of the women's 10m individual air pistol event after 600 bullets, placing fourth and entering the final.
By the time she finished shooting, Thu Vinh had equaled the record for points in this qualifying round.
But right after that, the two home shooters of ASIAD 19 scored 581 points and broke the record Thu Vinh had just reached.
In the final, the Vietnamese female shooter only ranked 6th with 156.2 points.
Also in the qualifying round, Thu Vinh's two teammates, Nguyen Thuy Trang (570 points, ranked 22nd) and Nguyen Thi Huong (564 points, ranked 39th) were eliminated.
The total score of the three Vietnamese shooters was 1,714, ranking sixth in the team event, so there was no medal.
On the morning of September 29, Nguyen Thuy Hien, Pham Thi Van, Pham Thanh Bao, Tran Hung Nguyen, Do Ngoc Vinh and Nguyen Quang Thuan all failed to pass the qualifying round of individual events in swimming.
In esports, the Vietnamese team lost 1-2 to China in the bronze medal match of League of Legends.
Trinh Hai Khang ranked 8th in the vault final and did not win a medal.
On the evening of September 29, in athletics, Hoang Thi Minh Hanh finished second in the third round of the women's 400m qualifying round with a time of 53.49 seconds and won a ticket to the final.
