Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Colonel Nguyen Thanh Quang, Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, emphasized: The contest is an opportunity for officers and soldiers to review the glorious and heroic traditions of the nation, the Military Region Army in general and the Lam Dong Provincial Armed Forces in particular.
This is also the basis for agencies and units to properly assess the knowledge, capacity, experience, and methods of conducting political and ideological education and revolutionary traditions of cadres; creating conditions for cadres at all levels to study, exchange experiences, improve pedagogical skills and working capacity, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new revolutionary period.

The contest aims to widely propagate and promote the tradition of the armed forces of Military Region 7 over 80 years of construction, fighting and growth. Through the contest, it contributes to arousing patriotism, national pride, solidarity, self-reliance, building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, arousing the spirit of Uncle Ho's soldiers in officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces.

The contest was attended by 18 outstanding candidates selected from units under the Provincial Military Command. Each unit consisted of 2 members, including 1 political officer and 1 military officer. The candidates had to go through 2 rounds: Preparing an outline and telling a story.
The contestants prepared carefully, enthusiastically and emotionally, bringing many touching stories, which were important battles in history associated with the struggle of the army and people of Lam Dong province, the army and people in Military Region 7.
From the stories, the contestants have drawn important combat lessons to serve the tasks of military training, combat readiness; conducting Party work, political work; and logistics and technical support work at agencies and units.
