Free examination and screening for congenital heart disease for children at An Giang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital
Accordingly, infants under 18 years old in An Giang province (priority given to the group from 0 - 6 years old), children with signs of suspected congenital heart disease (rapid breathing, cyanosis, slow weight gain...) will be examined and screened for free by specialists of the Ho Chi Minh City Cardiovascular and Congenital Heart Association; and health communication andeducation about congenital heart disease.
It is expected that about 1,000 patients will be examined, clinically screened; have echocardiograms, ECG measurements; and receive treatment advice. Cases requiring surgery will be referred to higher-level hospitals for treatment. The goal is to detect early cases of children with congenital heart disease in the community. Provide guidance and advice to families on timely treatment, monitoring, and intervention. Enhance coordination between provincial levels and leading experts; raise public awareness of congenital heart disease.
