Yen Phu commune people hope for a stable life

The flash flood in Yen Phu commune, Tuyen Quang province has passed for 3 days, but has left over 400 households and 22 villages in the commune with a chaotic and extremely difficult life, falling into poverty.

On the night of September 11 and early morning of September 12, 2025, heavy rain occurred in the West and Northwest regions, causing flooding in many localities. Yen Phu commune was one of the localities that suffered very heavy damage, with flash floods sweeping through all villages in the old Yen Lam commune along the Nac Con stream, including: Thai Khao, Quang Tan and Ngoi Sen, Thang 10... Nac Con alone was completely isolated; many houses were severely damaged; landslides occurred at 5 points, electric poles fell, causing power outages... More than 400 households suffered damage to property, crops, and livestock, of which more than 20 households had their houses flooded with rocks and mud. Notably, in Ngoa village, 14 households and 49 people had to move to temporarily stay at the village Cultural House due to the very dangerous risk of landslides.

Mr. Trieu Van Kinh, from Nac Con 1 village, choked up as he shared: “The flood swept through and submerged all my houses, all I could do was run. All my household items, rice fields, crops, and livestock were gone, there was nothing left. Now I wonder when my life will stabilize, it hurts so much, I don’t know what to do.”

Currently, the local Party Committee and government of Yen Phu commune are directing the entire political system to participate in helping people to urgently overcome the consequences of floods. At the same time, we call on organizations and individuals to care, help and share with the people to alleviate some of their difficulties, stabilize their lives in the long term, have a safer place to live, have funds to repair houses and household items; support crops and livestock so that people can start a new life after the flood.
