Top 10 universities publishing Scopus papers in computer science

Information about the leading universities publishing Scopus articles on computer science was announced at the scientific conference to evaluate the national key science and technology program "Supporting research, development and application of technology of industry 4.0" (KC-4.0/19-25) for the period 2019-2023 and orientation for the period up to 2030 organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University on November 11.

Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Hai Quan, Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University, said that after 4 years of implementation, the KC-4.0 program has selected 74 tasks out of 500 registered proposals. However, only 4 topics have been granted to universities in the South.

"Meanwhile, scientific research activities in the field of artificial intelligence in Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the South in general are very vibrant. For example, in 2022 alone, in the top 10 educational institutions with the most international publications in the field of computer science in the Scopus category, there are up to 7 units in the southern provinces," shared the Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University.

Mr. Quan further cited the total funding that Vingroup Innovation Foundation (VinIF) has sponsored for topics, projects, and scholarships of Ho Chi Minh City National University in the past 5 years of about 90 billion VND (accounting for 11.25% of the total of nearly 800 billion VND that VINIF has sponsored). In addition, scientists of Ho Chi Minh City National University have also won many awards at other artificial intelligence competitions.

10 universities in Vietnam leading in the number of Scopus articles in the field of computer science in 2022

Specifically, according to data published at the conference, in 2022, out of 50 universities, there were more than 4,000 Scopus articles in the field of computer science. In which, the leader was Ho Chi Minh City National University with 722 articles. Some units with the next largest number of published articles include: Hanoi University of Science and Technology with 482 articles, Duy Tan University with 227 articles, Hanoi National University with 225 articles, etc.

Also in the field of computer science, the statistics of published articles of 50 Vietnamese universities from 2019 to 2023 show over 17,700 articles. From 2000 to present, the leading university in Scopus articles on computer science such as Ho Chi Minh City National University has more than 3,700 published articles.
