Báo Nhân dânBáo Nhân dân24/09/2024

On September 24, in Thanh Oai district, the Hanoi Women's Union organized a communication program "Preventing and responding to school violence - Building safe and friendly schools" for nearly 2,000 students.

Speaking at the program, Vice President of the Hanoi Women's Union Le Thi Thien Huong said that in recent years, school violence has become an issue of concern for the whole society.

Notably, according to statistics from the Supreme People's Court , of the approximately 220,000 divorces each year, 70-80% are due to conflicts and domestic violence. The number of students with a background of domestic violence related to school violence is very high.

Reality shows that school violence has recently tended to increase in schools, truly becoming a warning bell for families, schools and society; reminding us to pay attention and have appropriate measures to push back this problem.

To reduce school violence and build safe and friendly schools, the Hanoi Women's Union recommends that Women's Unions at all levels, schools, families and students actively promote and raise public awareness of children's rights, prevent and respond to violence and abuse against women and children; join hands to prevent and respond to school violence; build safe and friendly schools, contributing to building elegant and civilized Hanoians.
