Building a safe, open and innovative internet

On September 9, in Da Nang, the Vietnam Internet Center (Ministry of Science and Technology) held the opening ceremony of the 60th Member Conference of the Asia-Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC 60).

APNIC 60 gathered 500 domestic and international delegates. Delegates discussed the following contents: Building a policy on internet resources in the region; Discussing the participation and role of regional IP management organizations - RIR, national - NIR with international issues such as WSIS +20, GDC Treaty; Training programs on administration, network security, advanced internet routing for the community.

At the same time, orient development and ensure global internet security: quantum internet; promote efficient use of internet resources; deploy IPv6, IPv6 only; apply AI; manage, monitor, operate, ensure safe internet routing and connection; research, develop, apply internet techniques and technology; Plan and roadmap for deploying IPv6 only in the world .

This is the region's highest-level conference on building IP/ASN internet resource management policies, and is also a forum for connecting the internet community, meeting, and sharing experiences on policies and technologies in the field of internet resources.

This year also marks 25 years since the Vietnam Internet Center has accompanied the development of the Vietnamese Internet and more than 27 years since Vietnam officially connected to the global Internet. Vietnam has made remarkable progress, ranking among the top 10 countries in the world in IPv6 deployment, with a rate of 65%.

The 60th APNIC Conference is an effective implementation of the strategic directions in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 and Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2025 of the Politburo , demonstrating the region's leading role in policy making, developing new-generation internet infrastructure, promoting technical cooperation, sharing experiences and connecting the global internet community.

The 60th APNIC Conference in Da Nang affirms the core role in the Asia -Pacific Internet community, providing the attending community with a unique opportunity to collaborate with the world's leading experts to build a secure, open and innovative Internet for the future.

Within the framework of the program, the following activities took place: Conference of Asia-Pacific Internet Exchange Managers and Operators (APIX 32); signing of memorandums of understanding on cooperation and bilateral work with national Internet resource management agencies.
