Youth companion
Continuing many meaningful activities, since the completion of the "National Flag Road" project, the La Dee commune youth volunteer team immediately embarked on the task of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, helping affected local households to soon stabilize their lives.
Mr. Zoram Hai, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of La De Commune and Secretary of the Youth Union of La De Commune, said that a few days ago, after a heavy rain, the entire hill behind the slope of the house of Hien Thi (in Dac Ro village) suffered a serious landslide. Thousands of cubic meters of rock and soil flowed down from above, burying the house walls, threatening the lives and property of the family.
Immediately, a shock team of young people and militia was mobilized to overcome the consequences of the flood. Promoting the spirit of shock for the community, after a short time of joint efforts, the entire block of earth and rock was dredged and moved to another place, ensuring the safety of Mr. Hien Thi's family and neighboring households.
“In response to the practical needs of the locality, in recent times, we have established a youth volunteer team to support the community. This team is tasked with helping people overcome natural disasters, eliminate temporary housing, support technology and digital transformation... Through practical actions, the youth volunteer team joins hands and accompanies us towards welcoming the upcoming 1st Congress of the Da Nang City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term,” Mr. Zoram Hai shared.

Together towards the community, many meaningful activities are continuing and spreading strongly at many grassroots levels in mountainous areas. Recently, in the border village of Ki'nonh, the Youth Union of Hung Son commune launched the construction of the youth project "Suspension bridge for people's livelihood" with the participation of nearly 100 volunteers and local people.
The project has a total value of 150 million VND, implemented from the source of funds mobilized by the Youth Union of Hung Son commune, contributing to ensuring traffic safety, serving the travel needs of people in mountainous and border areas.
Mr. Riáh Dung, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, Secretary of the Youth Union of Hung Son commune, said that in addition to building a suspension bridge for the people, during the launching ceremony, the locality also organized a charity program, giving 75 gifts (including 50 gifts for children and 5 gifts for poor households) in the commune, with a total cost of over 200 million VND.
“We want to contribute a little to the community, seeing it as a way to spread good deeds towards the city's big festival,” said Mr. Riah Dung.
Multiplying community value
The plan for the first Co Tu Traditional Cultural Festival in Song Kon Commune - 2025 has just been issued. Over the past few days, hundreds of Co Tu artisans in the commune have gathered in front of each village cultural house to practice traditional tang tung - da da dances, preparing for the community festival.

In harmony with the echoing beat of drums and gongs, the footsteps of the villagers under the guidance of experienced artisans create a community living space that is both vibrant and rich in traditional meaning.
Mr. Alang Phan, Head of Bhlo Ben village, said that at this time, people have just finished weeding and harvesting acacia, so it is quite convenient for training activities. The festival held after the commune merger has a very special meaning, creating an opportunity for exchange and connection between the Co Tu community in the villages in the commune.
“This is also an opportunity to preserve and promote traditional cultural values, contributing to making Co Tu culture a unique tourism product for visitors from near and far,” Mr. Phan hopes.
The sound of drums and gongs resounded in front of the communal house, dances recreating the scene of a bumper crop, the celebration of the new rice crop or the moment of exchanging love… were enthusiastically instructed by artisans for the young generation. The practice sessions became a unique cultural space for the people of Song Kon commune before the 1st Congress of the Da Nang City Party Committee.
Mr. Do Huu Tung, Chairman of Song Kon Commune People's Committee, said that according to the plan, the first Song Kon Commune Co Tu Traditional Cultural Festival will fully recreate the cultural rituals imbued with the traditional colors of the Co Tu, with the highlight being the Prongooch twinning ceremony, displaying cultural artifacts and local products, singing and dancing, traditional cuisine performances and folk games.
The festival promises to gather hundreds of local artists and actors to perform, opening a series of outstanding cultural activities in the mountainous communes of Da Nang city.
“In addition to preserving the fine traditional cultural values of the Co Tu people, the festival aims to welcome the 1st Congress of the Da Nang City Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.
Thereby, contributing to encouraging and raising people's sense of responsibility in preserving, promoting and popularizing the traditional cultural identity of the Co Tu ethnic group, promoting the spirit of community solidarity, honoring identity, aiming to form unique cultural tourism products to serve the needs of experience and discovery of tourists when coming to the land of Song Kon", Mr. Tung said.
